McKenna: Bakinson's the Profile of Player We Like
at 15:57:19

I get to like our manager the more I hear him talk. As I have said before he will be a success in his career. We just have to make sure it is here. His knowledge of players, especially the younger ones is second to none and I trust this interview will put to rest the conspiracy theories that always abound on social media including TWTD that this was not a 'McKenna' signing.
Media today thrives on and exaggerates stories such as those coming from Nigel Pearson/Bristol regarding this young man. The game is littered with players who did not fit at a certain club(s) but thrived at another - let us hope that we have one here.
Am looking forward to the game tomorrow - Accrington will be a test and must be respected.

McKenna on Bonne and Aluko

Jas1972 - well done! I have just looked on the internet as well and of course you are correct. What an interesting cup final that was!!!
Thank you for putting me right - I should not have let my memory take charge!

McKenna on Bonne and Aluko

A bit of trivia about Sone - he and another player with ITFC connections were in a FA cup final squad. Both played some of the game. Who will get it first without referring to the internet!!!

Chambers: I Never Imagined I'd Play 800 Games
at 11:56:36

50% of his games played for ITFC he was out of position. He was also part of a defence that had a very good record - our inability to score was our largest issue. 800 appearances suggests that managers still appreciate what he has to offer. Was he our best ever centre half - of course not - was he more than adequate, a good captain, and an excellent ambassador for ITFC - yes.

Big Club, Little Club
at 10:41:25

An excellent piece and I like the Coventry comparison. I remember them getting promoted with Wolves (we finished 5th) and indeed towards the end of that season their supporters took up half of the Churchmans end. (this was before segregation of course!). The next year we used to sing; we're better than united, we're better than the kop' we only finished 5th last year but this year we'll be top!
I do so agree with your small club topic and yes so many other clubs have had their moments of glory - remember Swindon and Don Rogers. I believe they were only denied a taste of Europe after winning their trophy because they were not a top division club!
So yes humilty is the watchword and thank you reminding us of our humble beginnings.

McKenna: We Know We Have a Good Squad But We Are Looking at Options
at 17:24:04

Give our new manager credit where it is due; it is so refreshing to hear interviews that are informative and full of his ideas and the clubs real interest in taking ITFC forward. It is just the kind of stuff we as supporters want to hear. It will not be all plain sailing, but in my opinion if this gentleman can not take us forward, I am not sure if anyone can. Yes there are still lots of issues and areas where improvement is needed both on and off the pitch, but we seem to be addressing those slowly.
I am convinced that McKenna has a very good managerial career in front of him; we must as a club make sure we look after the guy properly and meet his needs and not just in terms of finance. He will be a success, I so very much hope it will be at our/my club ITFC.

Clements: It’s All I’ve Ever Dreamt Of
at 12:17:14

Good informative piece from Clements, he certainly did more than ok last evening. Let's hope he gets that loan he is looking for - in January perhaps.
Cat - Your post above says far more about you than it does Luke Chambers.
True supporters made their feelings towards him well known last evening.

Cook: Amazing Feeling For Bonne
at 19:20:19

Don't be too hard on Woolfenden; if we as supporters have a fault it is praising a player one game and having a go the next. Just imagine how he is feeling tonight. if you have ever played we all have had nightmare games and he had his today.
Remember not long ago most wanted him as a regular. I for one hope he recovers from this, as there is a good player in there. Miss an open goal and you are quickly forgiven - have a poor game as a defender as he did today and you get crucified.

Cook: Can We Win Automatic Promotion? Why Not?
at 11:49:54

Morecambe have also bought loads of new players, so we will not be able to use as an excuse tomorrow, that the players need time to get to know one another!
If we can win the home game and stay unbeaten away against Burton and Cheltenham, then that would be a decent platform on which to build.

Downes Still With U23s Ahead of Chelmsford Visit
at 10:43:14

Every youngster deserves a second chance - this is the boys livelihood at stake. Yes, perhaps mistakes have been made, but we should either bring him back into the fold or help him find another employer.
You can not blame a 22 year old for the previous regime at ITFC. Indeed if it was as bad and unprofessional as we are lead to believe, who can blame him for wanting away at the time.

U18s Coach Jason Leaves Blues to Watch Son Andre at QPR
at 11:27:42

Whow, how well written was that. It would have been easy for Jason to have sounded bitter and demoralised, but no, being the decent bloke he is, there was a positive spin to it all and some polite home truths without any recriminations.
As supporters we can learn from that ourselves, and move on in a positive way without the frustrations and anger of what went before.
Good luck to both father and son, you deserve success in your lives.

Former Loanee Parrott Joins MK Dons

I honestly believe there is a good footballer in there somewhere. For us it was wrong place, wrong time. I fully expect Troy Parrott to have a top notch career - good luck to him apart from August 21st and February 12th next year!

Gibbs Joins Norwich as Clubs Agree Compensation
at 09:34:14

They are category1, we are category2 - there is a world of difference. I could list a load of their players who have moved on for large fees and to be honest who can blame the young man. Our young players seem to have potential that rarely comes to fruition; their's I'm afraid 'walk the talk'.
Perhaps we should do as Brentford who ditched their academy to work on premiership outcasts - seems to have worked!

Gibbs Set For Norwich Subject to Compensation Agreement
at 12:27:36

Good luck to the young man. It is a known fact that Category 1 status can give him a better chance to improve his career. There are no guarantees of course but hey on the positive side think of it as £500, 000 perhaps for someone that has only played one league game.

Town Accounts Show Evans Waived or Settled £96m in Loans
at 09:52:30

There will be lots of comments bemoaning Marcus Evans tenure of ITFC. For my part his largest error was in not appointing a diligent Chief Executive with knowledge of running a football club. Hindsight though is a wonderful asset and now is the time to move on with perhaps a smidgen of gratitude that ME in effect wrote off nearly £100 million.
Onwards and upwards - hopefully!

Town Crooks Bid Well Short of Rotherham Valuation
at 16:56:33

£400,000 is a good offer for a division one club. It is very easy to spend someone else's money and not many transfers in this league will be larger than that. I can see both sides of the story. I could well be wrong but I would have thought we might go to £500,000 but not a lot higher.

It is also easier to show your potential when there is not so much pressure about. This boy might just turn out to be a good-un
