OliverR16 - But that is why you can't just directly translate someone's words from one language to another and expect the meaning to stay the same. In English, if its warm you might say 'I'm hot' or 'I feel hot' but in Spanish 'estoy caliente' or 'Siento caliente' will have awkward or unintended sexual connotations. In Spanish you'd say 'tengo calor' (I have heat) just as you 'have hunger' (tengo hambre) rather than 'feel' it in Spanish. Ironically, 'having heat' in English might be odd itself! The point is, judging someone based on a literal translation is often unfair or misguided because languages don’t work word-for-word — they carry different cultural meanings, idioms, tones, and social norms. 'Club importante' literally means 'important club' but in Spanish it means something different. For example, an 'old friend' in English is someone you've known a long time (regardless of age). Translated into Spanish (viejo amigo) just means a friend who is old (in age). |

‘Club importante’ in Spanish means a club with high stature in terms of competition. It likely means he’s looking for a club playing in one of the European competitions - europa or champions league. Neither her nor the manager are disrespecting or dismissing Ipswich. I don’t know what the exact quote in Spanish was but if he said “Quiere dar un paso importante en su carrera.” It means, he wants to take an important step in his career. Relax people. |
 | News Comment | McKenna Commits Future to Town at 15:12:37
Yeah, this is massive news really. Replacing McKenna would be a giant task so if he stays then the project continues. His biggest task I think will be to rebuild our midfield and although I expect Delap to go, i'd say we stand a better chance of him staying if McKenna is too. It feels counterintuitive to say we have done well this season given that we are going down, but overall, it is true. |
 | News Comment | Al-Hamadi Stoke Loan Agreed and Medical Passed at 12:54:39
Has made a positive contribution toward Town and our success in recent years so wish him the very best of luck. Hopefully he does well and earns himself a good move in the summer as I do not think he will be what we need regardless of where we are playing next season. |
 | News Comment | Manchester City 4-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:29:19
Can't be overly dissapointed with two losses from opening two games against Liverpool and City. My only slight gripe would be that in both matches we have had phases where we almost self-destructed and gone into a panic. |
 | News Comment | Trialist Alzate No Longer With Blues at 15:07:03
I would guess this means that we would view him as a squad player but he is after guaranteed first team football. Perhaps he will get added after the window closes if he can’t find what he is looking for and we still want to add depth. I think he could be a useful option. Better than Taylor no? |
 | News Comment | Town in Loan Talks For Chelsea Striker at 13:34:46
People need to remember who we are and where we are at. Our transfer business has been awesome. We seem to somehow have stayed loyal to the team that got us here, whilst adding young talent that will develop, doesn’t break the bank but includes additions with experience at much higher levels than anything we have had for a long, long . This is fantastic. |
 | News Comment | Town in Loan Talks For Chelsea Striker at 13:31:48
Not exactly prolific but he probably needs a permanent move to a club where he can find his feet and develop. A little similar to another former Chelsea player Solanke who needed a while to get going. Gosh, if we add Broja, Phillips, Szmodics, Cajuste and Alzate before the window closes that would be amazing. If we also add someone like Clarke, Odobert or Nelson we will be in dreamland. |
 | News Comment | Town Closing In On Swedish International at 15:00:36
‘Failed a medical’ could mean anything and is not necessarily a sign of an injury prone player or a major issue. This guy has plaid plenty of games for Reims, Napoli and Midtjyland - the latter two teams also being in European competitions, plus 23 caps for Sweden since 2020. Sounds like a good option. Loan with no obligation to buy. Cajuste and Alzate I think would make two excellent additions to our midfield and cost is minimal. This is great business for a newly promoted club who are trying to improve a squad that has essentially been promoted a season or two ahead of time. |
 | News Comment | Trialist Alzate Interesting Italian and Spanish Clubs at 16:27:37
Hamer would be a good signing. Ahmedhodžić has the profile we want. If at the end of the summer we have added: muric, johnson, greaves, Ahmedhodžić, townsend, hamer, szmodics, hutchinson, delap and all for under 100 million, than that is excellent work. I hope we sign Alzate on a free transfer too. If we could bring in another striker and/or another wide player that would be awesome but probably unlikely. Any of Odobert, Iheanacho, Clarke, Weghorst or Reiss Nelson would be welcome (albeit unlikely). If we sign Kalvin Phillips i'll comb in my pants and yes, I do mean comb! |
 | News Comment | Szmodics Talks Still Ongoing as Another Bid Turned Down at 13:11:58
I am totally split on this now. We have invested so much time in Szmodics now that not getting him would represent a huge waste of time. At 6 million he is a good signing as an option, at 10 million it is a large fee on someone who I don't think is really any better than what we already have. There are other areas that are a priority. I will feel a little bit anxious if we have only added Szmodics between now and Liverpool... |
 | News Comment | Iraola: Moore Could Have Future at Bournemouth at 12:45:59
Nketiah (if not just paper talk) would be amazing. It's hard to know where we will be at in terms of signings and hard to know which of the current squad will be able to step up. Having said that, I didn't fancy our chances at the beginning of the season just ended and we got promoted! So who knows! Leif Davis was always young and talented but take Morsy for example, i never would have thought at his age, he would have improved to reach the point that he is at now. |
 | News Comment | Iraola: Moore Could Have Future at Bournemouth at 12:43:03
We will need fire power for the new league. Hirst, as much as I love him, does not score many and as much as his game allows for others to score, I would assume we will have to adapt our game again for the new league. I think Moore is a good option and would not break the bank. If we go into next season with Hirst, Moore and someone like Broja leading the line than I will be feel very happy. |
