 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Southampton - Match Report at 14:44:05
Good point today. The issue was we could only make like for like changes to freshen things up rather than creating a different look. With additions of Akpom and hopefully Azon and the young Norwegian things will be very different. Liking what I see of Matusiwa. Not convinced by Johnson and think Young will likely take starting RB slot. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Hutchinson Exit Should Have Been Smoother at 14:22:25
Not sure what Sam is on about here. Perhaps it could have been smoother but only if Hutchinson didn’t refuse to play. Morsy seems to be implying by the club wanted Omari out? Or is he saying they wanted him out? Or is he talking about his experience at another club? Odd statement. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Hutchinson Didn't Feel That He Could Contribute Today at 23:31:59
McKenna is doing Hutchinson a favour here and being tactful in his management of the situation rather than throwing him under the bus and saying 'he's refused to play', which he has likely been advised to do by his agent. In terms of negotiation, the club need to retain a position of strength and make it seem like unless they get the right offer, Omari will stay and play another season. I also respect McKenna and the club doing the right thing by a young lad they clearly care for. He will go in the end and we will get the 40 million and we will bring in more players and finish with a squad better than 90% of the other teams in the league, its just annoying that we are at the back of the queue when it comes to transfers and this will rumble on. This is football though. |
 | News Comment | Muric 'Closing in On Turkish Move' at 11:41:07
Feel a bit for Muric. I still believe he is a good keeper, it just hasn’t worked out for him here. Hope he does well in his next move. |
 | News Comment | Young Watches Son as U21s Beat Needham at 12:41:54
blues1. Young can play left or right and we have good options at both left and right back with Davis, Townsend, Clarke and Johnson. I'm guessing that's why PhuketPete is pondering if Davis is on the move. Our squad is changing and Delap, Hutch and Davis would be the 'big three' in terms of talent bigger clubs might poach. I think though, Young is so versatile - can play left or right back, wing back, left or right wing, attacking mid - he even played 7 games as a defensive midfielder last season across 32 appearances. Experience, leadership and genuine quality even at 40. I'd see this as a really useful addition. |
