 | News Comment | Burley Applies for Town Job at 12:15:06
Maybe. Not exactly the young manager with fresh ideas that we've all be talking about, but a good option. |
 | News Comment | Replay Winners Will Face Brighton at Home at 22:01:21
Can imagine Brighton would rest a lot of their first team, we could actually get into the fifth round. Why not go all out and focus on the cup?! We've got nothing else to play for. Give the fans a bit of joy with a cup run please Mick. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy Backs "Inspiration" Chambers at 10:59:16
I think Chambers is better than people give him credit for. He gets forward enough and uses his physical presence at the back post, rather than technical ability expected of most right backs. He occasionally delivers a good cross too. That glorious Jay Tabb header against Middlesbrough came from a Chambers cross. However, players like Josh Emmanuel deserve a proper chance to show they deserve a place in the team. And if they're reading articles like this they'll probably be looking for a move to another club. Last season against MK Dons with Kenlock And Emmanuel playing we looked more dangerous than we ever have under Mick. But it turns out that game was more of a showcase than an experiment. |
 | News Comment | Webster Starts Alongside Berra Against Tykes at 14:26:45
A slightly odd a selection, but more positive than we've come to expect. Personally would have preferred Smith to Berra and Ward to Bru but that may come over the next few games. |
 | News Comment | Town Targeting Tottenham's Ward at 12:15:04
Positive signing. Young, and coming off the back of a very successful season at this level. Was expecting some 32 year old random with no Championship experience. |
 | News Comment | Fulham Linked With Move for Smith at 12:49:57
I'd rather see Berra go for free, than Smith for a fee. People slate Tommy for lacking technical ability but Christophe at times appears to have none at all. While Tommy could be described as one-dimensional, he is an experienced, solid championship centre back and perhaps the only one we own (hopefully Webster, we'll see) that could cut it in the top division. Christophe Berra and also Luke Chambers on the other hand are both aging players who I really can no longer imagine playing 46 games in a promotion winning season in this league. One of them should depart if a centre half is leaving. Whilst it would be a great story to have homegrown Tommy Smith, who struggled so much earlier on in his Ipswich career, help us to achieve, he also deserves a place in the starting 11 on merit. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Town Operating in Same Markets at 13:41:30
Hopefully Kenlock and Emmanuel can provide width then in a 4-4-2 Diamond or 4-3-3. If not it's gonna be a standard 4-4-2 with Sears and a loanee out wide again... |
 | News Comment | Blues Linked With Blade Freeman at 22:43:59
Players only look as good as the level they're currently in. Andy Johnson, Rickie Lambert, Jamie Vardy, Grant Holt lol... They all made the step up later on. However they were all doing well in the lower leagues and this guy doesn't even seem able to look good in League 2. If he was a star player for a smaller team would shrewd- spending Ipswich really get a look in though?! Might be worth a punt. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Webster-Clarke Switch at 15:14:56
Welcome Adam, happy with this as long as he defends just as well as Smith and is more confident on the ball than Berra. Good luck to Matt, hope he comes back to haunt us in a few years time. |
 | News Comment | Yorwerth Signs for Crawley at 12:49:46
Didn't do a lot wrong, wasn't given enough playing time to do much right. Guess Mick's made this decision based on U21 matches and training sessions. Personally, I'd rather have let Berra go for a fee we could spend elsewhere and have Yorwerth as a squad player. |
 | News Comment | Town in Talks With Feeney at 20:16:40
To be fair Feeney is better than Pringle so hopefully Mick is simply avoiding saying that by talking about the transfer fee situation. Pringle isn't the kind of player we want to spend money on anyway. |
 | News Comment | Bart: Tommy Gets My Vote at 17:36:50
Mick picked his favourites last Saturday, but I still can't understand why he decided to change the back four after two consecutive clean sheets as he almost never changes the the defence! Perhaps he thought Foley could provide more in attack than Chambers at full back??? Anyway, let's hope Smith is back in the team tomorrow because he has undoubtedly been our best defender this season. |
