No probs - would have joined you but away with work on Weds. Roundabout good option as close to University, lots of screens downstairs and big screen upstairs. |

For city centre Tbe Roundabout is good option. Walkabout another sports place with big screen, as is The Brass Monkey. Kitty O'Hanlons will also likely have it on. Not sure about Barbican area - The Three Crowns or Navy most likely. |
 | Forum Reply | What an awful journey back yesterday at 13:18 16 Feb 2025
We were on 18:12 booked train from New St so walked back and got there with about 20 mins to spare. Decided to walk as didn't want to rely on trains from Witton. Fairly easy walk, initially very busy but got quieter and by the time we got into the city centre just a few Villa fans around. Google says about 60 mins but in reality you could do it in 45-50. |

The original banner had the same double negative in it and therefore read that football could be bought. Amount of abuse we got that day from Brighton fans walking back to station and had no idea why until I saw whole bannergate thing posted on here. |

I would agree with earlier post - Wolves at 1-1 is best I've heard this season from home crowd. I quite like the larger new grounds from architectual perspective but from a football atmosphere perspective they're just too big/poorly designed. |
 | Forum Reply | Wolves experience - miserable bar the result at 10:56 15 Dec 2024
I thought it was much better yesterday than I've seen in the past. Wolves fans I spoke with all decent and I do recognize this is all relative within the Premier League but enjoyed it far more than Man City, Spurs, West Ham as traditional ground with good atmosphere. |

Ground and by extension overall experience was really poor. The huge gaps between lower and upper tiers behind the goal were odd and at times yesterday I also reflected on just how far the home fans at the sides were from pitch compared to Portman Road and other older traditional grounds like Goodison. I can't actually remember why they moved from Upton Park in the first place, other than maybe a quick fix to increase capacity, but whatever the reason it seems a huge mistake. |

Was at that game - loads of Brighton fans after the match having a go at us about something I didn't even know had happened as banner wasn't easily visible from where we were. Other odd thing about banner is wording contains a double negative so it reads as the opposite to what I expect it was meant to mean. |
 | Forum Reply | Parking Fine at 18:12 8 Sep 2024
If it's a private parking company I would always resist paying to consider options as the fine they've sent you is akin to an invoice. I might be wrong but I think they have to prove loss of earnings to be successful in a court so they send all sorts of letters/threats/settlement offers etc etc but more often than not eventually go away. Sure they'll prosecute a few people every year but I think it costs them money to do this and it's therefore an exercise so they can also intimidate you with the fact they've made a few prosecutions. |

Rooney has come across very well in the local media so far - he does appear to value the relationship between fans, players, club and comes across as very down to earth and likeable. Needs a result against Hull this Sat and I hope he gets it. I've not always wanted Plymouth to do well with living here but I really do hope Rooney makes a go of it - if he doesn't there won't be too many other chances at management which he clearly recognises. |

I'll be on the 10:15am train from Plymouth tomorrow. With a bit f changing trains/checking into hotels get to Coventry just after 5pm. |
 | Forum Reply | Favourite Porter? a supreme Winter beer... at 01:35 10 Apr 2024
We had a good experience at Stoke away with Titanic Plum Porter. My first experience of it was Port Vale last year at the Bulls Head so looked up where it was sold for Stoke this year and saw the Bod cafe by Stoke station (owned by Titanic Brewery). However when we arrived it had a sign on the door saying 'By order of the police no football fans' so I joked with the guy on the door I'd travelled 200 miles for a pint of it after Port Vale last year. Turned out was same guy on the door as Bulls Head the year before and on seeing me and my little boy went in to see what he could do. He returned with a smile and said 'Take your scarf off and come in' so had couple of pints pre match in the Bod cafe before walking along the canal to stadium. This small gesture made a huge difference to overall day and despite performance/result is one of best away days this season in no small part due to this. |

Yes this is poor from the club - I have 29 points and missed out. Devon based so put in the miles (and expense). Would have gone today and guarantee would have made more noise than the hangers on. If there is any consolation maybe I'm less worried now about tickets for Hull and Coventry as 400 won't be going! |
 | Forum Reply | Why so many stewards lined up alongside Blue Action? at 11:39 29 Oct 2023
Did seem a lot yesterday, police as well at the back and both stayed through the second half. Maybe understandable if previous incidents (I wasn’t there for Wolves). Can only speak for myself but I go in A block to vocally support Ipswich - not interested in anything else but that. My sense is they’ll see majority there for same reason and therefore move on at some point. |
