 | News Comment | Appleton Confident Ward Will Stay at Pompey at 13:28:47
As a Pompey fan I have always viewed Ipswich and its fans as a similar club that was not a large club now, but had a good history of success now and again. Also both teams playing and supported by fans that enjoy good attractive football, played on the deck when possible. My view of the fans has however changed in reading the various ill informed comments on here about my stricken club. A club that has been raped by past owners, managers and the authorities to such an extent that yes our future is in real danger. What we as a football club, players and fans is not need to get the sort of snipes you lot seem only too happy to spout on this forum. Our players have been a very loyal bunch and all seem to have gone extremely reluctantly. Ward and Pearce seem to be saying the same thing. Its no detriment to Ipswich, its simply they want to stay and take their chances for the good of the team and club. Misguided in the long run maybe.. But refreshing in these days of ridiculously overpaid players. After last nights result we now have a chance of staying in the Championship despite our 10 points deduction. Appleton, who is doing a very good job for Pompey as I believe Jewell is doing for Ipswich, however knows that another couple players going, make just be two players too many. My final point is: The fact is the players that have gone have gone to clubs that have made it financially attractive to the administrator. Ipswich obviously have not made any sort of offer that cant be refused....eg/ Henderson to West Ham. Ta for now and good luck if you have yet to play Donnie, cov or B City......beacuse we plan to be top of that league of four.. |
