Unless we're prepared to show some ambition you couldn't really blame him if he wanted out, he's in the form of his life and who knows when he might have a better opportunity. That said I think going to wolves would be quite a gamble and he can surely do better than that, can't see him kicking up a fuss if we turned them down, a PL club would obviously be a different story.
Maybe mick could convince Lambert that Gerken is just as good and sell him for a hefty fee! |

I get that Murphy was a key player for us and the focal point (target man) of our attack, but surely these players can be trained to play a different way and be effective? Often it feels like we still just take the same approach despite it not being to our strengths. I thought the wing back system looked like it had potential at QPR but it was just to counter the way QPR set up as opposed to us adopting a new system and working on it over time. So frustrating! |

Would far rather we pick players up for £10k and sell for £10m than sign them for millions and see the walk away for nothing! Obviously would love us to keep hold of him but we can't realistically turn down anywhere approaching £10m, would surely put us in a great position to strengthen overall. |

The very reason we're in a position where we have to depend on an unknown backer is that we offered silly contract that we couldn't really afford so if we miss out on a striker unproven at this level because burnley want to pay him 12k per week then that's fine with me. Besides if he'd rather play for burnley he's clearly not for us. I'm just glad that jewell is looking at this type of player rather than spending big money on old boys! |
