Szmodics Talks Continuing
at 13:53:48

Don't think hes worth more than £8m max as last season was maybe one off & at 28 may find it harder to assimilate to Prem. Much prefer ITFC to go after Morgan Whittaker who has been a thorn in our side for past 2 seasons and is only 23 I think.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Norwich City - Match Report
at 11:57:23

How the lino didn't flag Rowe 1st goal as offside beggars belief. He was laying offside on the floor when the 2nd cross came back in gets up and immediately plays overhead kick, then pokes home the block. Also big question on 2nd goal as Barnes was in offside position and arguably interfering with keepers line of sight. We should have won it with more clinical finishing and better officiating today it would have been another victory. Still Leeds drawing as well and hopefully WBA beating Leicester tomorrow it'll be a point gained rather than 2 lost.

Ipswich Town 3-1 Millwall - Match Report
at 08:54:51

Great performance put game to bed early and dominated a very poor Millwall team. Really annoyed at the defending for the goal, again very sloopy, Lief was wrong side of his man and Burgess not tight enough. If we want to go up these defensive mistakes have to stop, we can't keep outscoring our opposition (I'm sure Leicester didn't deserve to draw v Shef Weds after 70% possession). Same as 1st goal v WBA Lief didn't track his man as he went near post for his header leaving 7 Town players marking each other, we need to switch on from KO and stop giving opposition freebies. Outside of that we may go top on Saturday if WBA can do us a favour so attacking wise we're definitely in right place and Luongo & Morsey still look class when playing together, Taylors done nout wrong but those two just seem more comfortable together. Come on Town keep it up and cut out these defensive errors and the Prem will definitely be in sight.

Town Working on Scarlett Loan Signing
at 13:14:11

This looks like a good idea, we need another more dynamic striker than Ladeapo, but lets be honest this guy isn't coming in as main striker unless he bangs in 2 a game from subs bench to be our main No 9 as that will hopefully be Hirst's role. As a result loaning in another striker or defender makes perfect sense if the loan is initially intended to only be as cover. With the rediculous wages in Prem atm (Brandon Williams is reportedly on £60k a week), there is no way we can purchase these players or pay their full wages, and they aren't leaving their Prem club to take a £50k a week pay cut so yes loanees is the way forward.

Warne: Disallowed Goal a Massive Turning Point
at 21:59:39

Mr Warne get over it to be honest Cashin should have been sent off after 2 mins for deliberate elbow on Burns it was disgraceful. Ref bottled it and probably disallowed his goal knowing bloke should have been sent off long ago. Again another serious error that goes against us similar to Sheff Wed's sending off that never happened. Also we thoroughly deserved our win Saturday and the beat whole Derby team fairly comprehensively.

Crystal Palace 4-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Was that Penny playing at No 3, if not whoever it waseshould be ashamed of that display for first 2 goals. Positionally they showed an ineptness that no professional footballer should accept. He needs to do lots of hard work to improve his game.

Baltacha: Emotional and Unbelievable
at 14:22:48

Its a shame we don't still have our traditional away kit of yellow shirt & socks with blue shorts. We should reinvent it and wear it until Russia withdraw from Ukraine.

Bobble don't get too political mate we all know war in any capacity is wrong and should always only be the last resort.

Barrow 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 11:31:14

That team performance was terrible. Tom Carroll you are an embarrassment, as for Penny I wouldn't pick him for my men's Sunday 11 utter dogw@nk. What I don't understand is that midfield of Fraser, Aluko, Carrol & El Mizouni should be pulling the strings and having a field day against Div 2 opposition. Carroll probably only touched the ball 3 times. I also don't understand mentality of McGreal with manager position up for grabs he makes 8 changes from a team that got a decent result prior Saturday. If he ever wanted to rule himself out from the poison chalice that is Ipswich town manager then last night did the trick. Shameful.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Newport County - Match Report
at 08:54:55

Don't understand having bought in so many new players why you wouldn't play a settled team for first few matches so they can gel together. Completely changing the whole 11 was a stupid missed opportunity to get some sort of continuity. I hope Mr Cook you are not going to end up another manager that thinks he can just do what he wants regardless of what sense dictates as we've had far to many of those managers over the past 20 years. Do then right thing and do it the right way and i'm sure it'll work out fine.

Lambert Sick and Tired of Blame Being Laid at Owner's Door
at 09:30:16

The vast majority on here need to grow up. Without ME we would be bankrupt at best in administration or worst non existent. It's not easy finding a mug who is happy to throw away millions of pounds each year, and saying its a ruse to offset profits from his other business interest ins nonsense. No business man wants to lose money. Yes he takes some blame but so do useless managers like Keane Jewel & Hurst who are all cuprable of wasting money on rubbish. The other party to blame is the director of football who obviously isn't a football man or he wouldn't have sanctioned 10 new signings this summer. The last party that has to take some of the blame is us as supporters, whete numbers have dwindled because we wanted Mick out well we all achieved that at what price?

Hurst Aiming to Surprise Doubters at Leeds
at 13:16:16

So Hurst is now clueless wasn't long ago that MM was same. Nearly every supporter on this site wanted Hurst and pre-season while he was signing untold unknowns everybody was excited at prospect of new season. Didn't anybody think that the signings of all these div 1 & 2 players was mental? Answer me this knowing what you know now would you still have got rid of MM consistency or still welcomed Hurst div 1 relegation no hopers? The issue is ME but who else is prepared to take on a consistent annual loss maker I'm sure he'd sell if he could.

Hurst: No Guarantee Waghorn Still at Town on Opening Day
at 17:10:19

I was reading that Brentford have valued their striker at £16m to deter any interest and he only scored 11 goals and 3 assists last season. If we truely want to keep him the minimum asking price should be £15m. We've already created a small transfer pot with sale of Webster. I'd prefer to sell Balokowski for £3-5m than Waghorn, far easier to replace and a transfer kitty of approx £10m will be enough.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Sheffield Wednesday - Match Report
at 14:00:31

Having watched and read many comments on here today, there hardly seems to be any anger directed at a very incompetent ref.

Regards the penalty the ball has to deliberately or intentionally hit the payers hand/arm. No way did Spence deliberately head the ball onto his shoulder, for that decision alone the ref should be struck off, let alone the two sendings off he missed which was Loovens on McGoldrick & Hunts second blatant trip on Garner while he was in the corner heading for penalty area. The ref was awful last night and definitely has contributed to our 2pts dropped tonight. Absolute CLOWN.

Sheffield United 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 12:23:06

We all need to be careful what we wish for. I've followed Ipswich for a very long time and can remember the clamour of calls for Joe Royle to be sacked, careful what you wish for as the two clowns that preceeded him Keane & Jewell took us back decades. Yes MM maybe a little negative but who seriously would we get instead of him, for every Eddie Howe there's a Paul Jewell or worse John Duncan. I remember listening to Charlton fans moaning while in Premiership that Curbs wasn't taking them anywhere, look where they are now. Yes MM may be steady but is the alternative of going into League 1 or worse a better option?

McCarthy: Making Play-Offs Extremely Difficult
at 09:10:09

The general consensus on this site is MM should go and we bring in a new manager that can do better with what's at his disposal. In defence of MM over the last two season he's seen our best two players sold and no money being given to repurchase, that has to have an impact on the team, yet in spite of that we are still comfortable in league and will probably only miss the playoff zone by 5-9 points. I've followed the Town for a long time and the likelihood of us finding another Alf Ramsey, Bobby Robson, John Lyall or George Burley is pretty slim. Yes we'd all like a an Eddie Howe but recently we've had Jewell, Keane & Duncan which I assume all had grand ideas but none of them could pull it off. I remember Joe Royal being lambasted by the supporters as he tried to fill the boots of Burley and in hindsight did a fantastic job. I think in time MM will probably be regarded in same light if god forbid we ever hit the depth of division one which has looked probable before MM came, so yes "Be careful what you wish for" as managerial history has proven within this club it may be a lot worse.
