Curbs has been out of the game for far too long to be of any use. Anubody remember PJ comments when he came in saying he'd been scouting lower leagues during his year out of work. Well that led to nothing and Curbs will be the same or worse after 5 years out of the game. Also at WHU his style was constantly being questioned yes they had some results but from what mates are telling me in worse style to what Alladyce has done. There is only one man for this job and ME needs to go and get in Billy Davis as he'll turn this club around instantly. Lets stop pussy footing about with has beens or maybe's and start looking at realistic targets that can do the job, the squad is good and could be quickly turned around one Billy D gets appointed. |

Definitely best signing was Marcus Stewart combining with David Johnson what a pair up front. God where would we be now with two of that quality.
Best game has to the be play off final as we finally got to the promised land. However, the most nerve racking tense game was the play off semi when Magic Jim popped up with the hatrick goal with last kick of 90 mins. Then watching Bolton disintegrate in extra time was just a joy. OMG at the moment I don't think I'll ever get to relive these types of games again, what a depressing thought. |

Like most on this site its heart breaking to see us starting and probably going through a another mediocore season, or worse. I personally don't feel PJ is right man for the job, however, I am not certain that anybody in the back office at this club has the ability to recruit the right man. This will be our 10th consecutive season in the Championship and I believe we are the longest serving club in this league, since the relegation of Preston & Coventry last season. To my mind I think that is where we are potentially heading as well, which hopefully night wake this club up. If you look at Southampton & Narwich (sorry to say it) they have re-emerged successfully from relegation to Div 1. For what its worth I would like to see Billy Davis appointed as manager of Ipswich tomorrow, he would easily sort out the on field issues, what to do about the back office staff at this club I have no idea. Evan's seems to be totally invisible & devoid of any long term plan or strategy apart from allowing the current crop of back office Clowns to waste his money and try to keep the wheels in motion. |

Oh great days, but some additional highlights to remember.
Brian Talbot bloody head after clashing with John Wile putting us 1-0 in 78 semi
Kevin Beattie scoring from free kick on half way line agianst Leeds (i was mascot that day & the Beat was my fav palyer) not a lucky one though as we lost 3-2.
Thrashing Southampton & WBA both 7-0 during 75 season.
Mullering Man u 6-0 and missing three penalties to boot (1 was re-take I believe)
The heart break of missing out on 75 cup final due to Clive Thomas ineptitude.
The heart break of watching us get relegated in 86 at West Ham. |
