The grumblings around the new formats are missing the point.
Instead of focussing on the clear and overwhelming benefits for the kids staying in smaller teams or on smaller pitches (more touches/playing time = more development) the usual types of voices are trotting out tired excuses revolving around "lack of facilities/volunteers/they'll be 14 before playing 11 a side" etc.
The changes are a big step forward for youth football, and they're about the kids, not the adults/tradition/convenience. More age-appropriate formats mean better skills development, more enjoyment and a proper foundation for the game.
Yes there are challenges around pitch allocation, more coaches, funding etc but these are not insurmountable and are issues clubs just need to work through.
Essentially mirroring the Spanish system which has worked well, hasn't it? |

But you understand that 'if they do well' that means its been successful for both player and club, right?
Many, if not all successful Championship clubs use the loan market well and doing well developing top premiership sides young talent whilst we are at this level is mutually beneficial.
Our manager rates him as one of the 'worlds best young talents', why on earth wouldn't you not back Mckenna in this instance based on the last 18 months?

I think this is a really basic way of reading the situation and how it presents itself. For the club to usurp an entire section of our most popular stand would be plain awful PR and is far from the only viable solution. The 'treatment' of Blue Action by the club sounds pretty consistent with how other clubs interact with these types of passionate, independent groups. Sometimes the comments on here from BA are on the emotional side, but what with them being a passionate bunch its par for the course.
For what its worth I am Pro BA, sit relatively near them and want to keep my seat as i enjoy the view..... |

He's not highly thought of, certainly away from nostalgic Ipswich fans and in a managerial capacity.
He hasn't been able to secure the next position since his last job and as many league 2 managers know if you don't secure one quickly you can drop out of management altogether like that.
Without this opportunity he would be battling it out for mid-lower league 2 jobs if he was lucky. Its actually a calculated and really quite wise career move to have been hanging round the club last few months. |

I'm not sure you followed Boothroyd's England u21 teams fall from grace and their performance in the last two tournament's? You really wouldn't be saying anything of the sort.
Would be great if Phil introduced a new filter which removes any posts mentioning manager records from the noughties? |

This is fairly standard level of change for league 1 thou, as said on here by many posters in defence of attacking Cooks own churn.
So by rights he should be doing better than 15th, which perhaps says something about lack of planning for annual churn?
Remember even though he lost those players he got the best midfielder at Town, The Bish. |
