This is football today. OK give Omari the benefit of the doubt but we now have players basically going on strike to get moves, Isaac and Wissa, and it’s clear that players are now the ones with the power. Some would say that’s how it should be, as opposed to being treated like cattle back in the day. Trouble is footballers don’t run the game, own clubs,run clubs, manage teams, coach teams, do the hard graft behind the scenes etc. if they get too superior and it’s going that way, it could backfire. The money could go elsewhere, as could others. Will the new regulator make it worse with player bias or achieve a fair balance? |

The key is the drive to a valuation of £1 billion. That only happens with sustained PL football. Brighton are currently valued at around that figure, Our US owners are investing in our club to get a return. Nothing wrong with that, as it means a drive to be successful on and off the pitch.That said l would like to think they all have at least some emotional attachment to the Club. But altruism it ain’t, never was and never will be. |

Apparently, we began talks with him at the end of the season, and talks were “ongoing”, so in the absence of a deal it seems clear he was waiting for test offer. I do hope that the Club weren’t wasting too much time on this. Time which could have been better spent on realistic targets. Back in training and one signing. Release ( alleged) of £35 million starting to look a little light now. Overall he had a bang average season in the PL, but is clearly more than capable against his peers. Difference is quality of the opposition is vast. Still he’ll attract attention, and wants to stay in the PL, so just it done quickly so we can move on. |
