Hard to call this one, £6m would be a good deal with add-ons, defo has the potential to turn into a £10m+ player but I don't see that as being a left back - more of a left midfield/winger, for me he made too many defensive mistakes last season - 2 in against Norwich in the play-offs 2nd leg - to stay at left back. Someone of the Parr kind behind him would work.... that said, I'm sure Big Mick has got it all in hand! |
 | News Comment | Match in Memory of ITDFC Player at 18:49:50
Just reading the comments. I am the organiser of the event and would just like to clarify that ITFC are fully in support of the event. The pick of venue was my choice, due to connections both myself and Justin have with the 1st team management. |

Sorry Big Gaz, I apologise, I respect my elders, clearly I know nothing about football and your knowledge is far better, I shall go crawl back under my rock! Talk about ageist! At the time we were 5th yes, but it was our first season back in the big time, and we could easily get relegated the following season (which we DID) due to the fact our budgets could not compete to that of Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool etc... Wright was offered good money, at a stable prem club, with an opportunity to further his career.... plus lets use some comman sense, selling him whilst our prem status was secure he was worth a lot more than if we had of kept him another season, got relegated and needed to panic sell to increase our cash flow asap! You're prob talking a difference of £3m. |

I agree with Marshalls-Mullet, which pro-footballer in their right mind would turn down the opportunity to go to one of the best clubs in the country (at the time). NEWFLASH - Big Gaz starts on Connor Wickham for moving to a prem club ;) |

 | News Comment | Out-of-Contract Norris Targeting More Goals at 14:12:41
Think people are jumping to conclusions, you will probably find that the that the senior players want to play for town, but want to play at least Championship football next season - 4 or 5 more wins and you'll see players start to put pen to paper.... after all if we get relegated not only will it mean a low standard of football, but also paycuts... It's just players (agents) looking out for themselves. Personally, I think we will finish 8-12th and all will be rosey! |
 | News Comment | Livermore Joins On Loan at 16:06:53
Doesn't matter that he turns 21 midway through November, the rule is players under the age of 21 at Sept 1st in any given season, therefore he wont activate the over 21 clause until next season! |
 | News Comment | Keane Pleased With Stead at 14:33:50
Great performance yesterday, one of the better displays at PR for a while, although IF some of the QPR players knew how to finish it could have been a different game. Starting to look promising with some key partnerships starting form. I would say in Jan we need to be looking at getting in a player who is a natural left footer - this has been a big let down for us in the final third i.e. a right footed player is beating his man, but then having to cut back on himself (losing the space he's created) and failing to deliver. IMO the team for '10. -------------Stead------------- ?????-------Garvan-------Walters --------Norris-Leadbitter------ Wright-Delaney-McAuley-Rosenior ------------Murphy------------- Or maybe we already have ????? in Colback?! What do people think? |

 | News Comment | Keane: Deals Unlikely Until January at 14:34:23
Following some of the extreme negativity on this message board I thought I'd add some notes of hope for all those Town fans like me, who are actually trying to get behind the team to support and encourage whoever RK plays in order to lift us up the table and away from our current predicament. Yes we have only won once in 15 games, but we have also taken 8 points from other games — we have had wholesale changes to the team which needs time to gel and a portion of good luck/rub of the green which we haven't seem to have had this season. If we aim to win every home game and at least draw every away game, come the end of the season we'll have another 69 points — 80 in total (same as 3rd place Sheff Utd last season). Not saying that it will be the case, but there is still a long long way to go and a lot of points up for grabs… To quote the late Christopher Reeve (a Quadriplegic, who towards the end of his life begun to learn to walk again) — Nothing is Impossible! COYB!! |

 | News Comment | Keane: Not Our Best But I\'ll Take the Win at 21:13:57
Great to finally get a win... Nice touch by Liam Rosenior at the end of the game - walking round and applauding all the fans who have stuck by the team! Also loving Keano's responsed to Radio Suffolk report... "Roy, how will you be celebrating this win tonight?".... "Well... I s'pose I'll have a cuppa tea". LOL |
 | News Comment | Keane Closing in On Loanee as Lisbie Set to Return from Colchester at 13:42:29
Superblueflude - re: emergency loan. I believe there is a cut off in November when you can only sign 'keepers on loan til the transfer window opens again in Jan... Therefore the later RK leaves it, the longer an outfield player could stay... Not done the maths, but think it is technically possible to loan someone towards the cut of day and they could stay until the end of Jan. This would give RK all of Jan to offload, make space, before the loan player becomes perminent. Anyone else want to add to that?? |
 | News Comment | Warner Runner-Up at Awards at 11:06:42
Just want to pass my congratulations on to Warner, he deserved to be nominated, if not win the award - not only for his work on match days for the disabled supporters of ITFC but also the hard work and commitment he has put in for Ipswich Town Disabled FC since 2003. |
 | News Comment | Keane: I\'ve Learned a Lot About My Players at 10:07:45
Last night was very disappointing; Palace obviously fired up from what had happened on Saturday, took the game by the scruff of the neck right from the off and forced us on to the back foot. Games like that you need a defence who are going to stand up and be counted for... instead we have Delaney who couldn't complete a 2 piece jigsaw, let alone a 5 yards pass and a centre defender who looks scared to go anywhere near the ball. Really think that McAuley's poor performances is not only having a bad affect on the team, but also on Pim's development (poor young lad needs to be playing along someone who can be his mentor and inspire him to improve). Bruce for me was our best defender by a long shot last night and should be considered a mainstay in the starting XI. Healy in my opinion is no better, or even worst then Tommy Miller, likewise with Trotter (only reason he won't be subbed is because they can't fit his cart that he tows on the bench). Martins looked lively, but as with Walters, Priskin and Wickham... we'll only get the best from them when we get someone in the middle of the park who can pick out a decent pass and make things happen - Garvan?? With 13 days left of the transfer window I would think we need to focus our attentions on; Bringing in a decent defender i.e. someone in the Jay DeMerit mould - big, strong, no crap centre half. Along with two midfields... A strong, break down the play holding midfielder and a creative, pulling all the strings midfielder - maybe the former on loan to cover Norris whilst he is out injured. |
