A good move for him. Hope he is able to push on in his career now and get regular game time as he is a very technically gifted player who deserves success. |
 | News Comment | Manchester United First-Team Coach Set to Be Town Number Two at 18:25:34
Managers have to start somewhere - think we need someone a bit unproven to be honest, and at least this time we'll actually have a number 2 (with decent experience too). Either way they both deserve our full support - quite obvious from both Cook's tenure and recent games since that, as is often the case, the players themselves are the ones who need to step up. I'd rather we harass them than immediately jump at the manager at the first opportunity. |
 | News Comment | Cowley on Jacobs and Morrell at 19:07:57
Really well articulated, ArnieM. Couldn't agree more. Think we've been very shrewd with our business, and despite the jealousies from fans from other clubs we've spent very little indeed. We've suffered for so long but are finally getting the backing that we deserve. |
 | News Comment | Gibbs Joins Norwich as Clubs Agree Compensation at 09:35:05
Really disappointing, this. 10 years in our academy only to move to our fiercest rivals. I get it, he's 18, Norwich is close so it'll be easier for him to settle, good track record of developing young players, premier league team, etc. But this does reflect the lack of loyalty modern day footballers seem to show now. And it's not as if we didn't want to keep him either. Time will tell whether he made the right decision or not, but there's certainly a plethora of players for whom it most certainly did not work out. |
 | News Comment | Dozzell's QPR Move Confirmed at 16:24:45
Great deal for him. He will surely excel in a more talented team. Question the bitterness of some Town fans: it is always a sad day to see someone homegrown leave the club, and people seem to forget his age and the absolutely dreadful players he has had around him here. Excited to see where his career takes him but sad that it is no longer with Town. |
 | News Comment | Bradley Set to Stay at Luton at 14:03:49
This always seemed an unlikely one to me anyway, would have been surprised to see him drop down a league. His agent probably used the interest to secure a better deal for him. |
 | News Comment | AFC Wimbledon 3-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 20:39:32
This game definitively highlights how far as a club we have fallen. I never imagined when PC took over that we would need a complete squad overhaul but it is clear that that is most definitely what we need. Quite frankly embarrassing that with all the recent positivity around the club the players themselves have shown they have no desire to be here. Can't blame the manager as no professional would willingly play like that to get the manager sacked. I wouldn't be sad to lose 90% of this current crop of players. |
 | News Comment | Town Takeover Completed at 11:21:09
Fantastic news. The statement makes for really pleasant reading: they've explicitly made it clear they will give significant financial support. Fair play to Evans too for writing off much of the debt. Genuinely the most positive I've felt about Town in a long, long time. |
 | News Comment | Former Winger Roberts Confirmed as Coach at 13:17:23
Pretty handy to have him ready for tonight, hopefully can give some insight into Accrington's tactics. Not too sure they'll be best pleased about that! |
 | News Comment | Lambert: 99.9 Per Cent Chance I'll Not Be Here After a Takeover at 19:09:39
Fair play to him, quite a candid interview (for once!). He does sound like a defeated man though. I must admit I do feel a bit sorry for him, but think it's fair to say he hasn't shown himself to be a particularly good manager: so-so record prior to his arrival here and questionable tactics these last two seasons. He did bring a bit of positivity amongst the fans when he joined as captain of a sinking ship, but even then the results didn't come and still haven't really met expectations. Wish him all the best but don't think we'll particularly be the worse for not having him here. |
 | News Comment | Dozzell Red Card Appeal Unsuccessful at 17:04:45
Absolute joke of a decision. You have to fear for the future of football in this country with such an incompetent governing body and piss-poor standard of refereeing in the lower leagues. Kills any enjoyment from watching the game. |
 | News Comment | No Jackson Red Card Appeal at 13:47:54
Surely Dobra should be in with a chance of getting in the team now? So many youngsters just being left to rot at the club atm. |
 | News Comment | Evans: We Need to Be a Footballing Team at 07:50:04
“When it all clicks, a more technical approach with a deep squad will take us to higher places as opposed to a direct style which will only take us so far. What does this even mean? All the fans want is to see us winning games, Marcus. This interview smacks of someone talking about something they don't actually know that much about. The regression of this club under his ownership is shocking and you have to question someone who gives a 5 year contract to a manager that actually hasn't really shown any signs that things have improved on the pitch. |
 | News Comment | Lambert: We Still Need to Establish Dozzell's Main Strength at 17:59:42
People forget that he has not been given an extended run in the team. It is exceedingly difficult to build momentum and confidence when you are limited to a bit-part role. His passing and movement clearly set him apart as a naturally gifted player. He just needs regular starts to unlock his potential - you don't repeatedly get capped for the national youth teams for no reason. |
