Omari to Brentford
at 13:13 1 Aug 2025

It fascinates me you want evidence. Where’s your evidence the books are balanced?

Wanting things to be true isn’t vidence.

We sold Delap through 24/25
Our owners explicitly say there will be £100 million sales.
Most of our £150 million spend last year is amortised through the next four years
Our base case won’t be promotion
Our wage bill alone is over 100% our entire revenue without parachute payments… which will be our base case financially.

So whatever KM and Omari do or don’t want, he will be sold… there’s a £20 million liability at the start of EFL seasons in the future that Gamechanger don’t want to fund, they’ve made that very clear …. They couldn’t spell it out any clearer.

Of course if we win promotion, £150 million V’s £5 million in TV revenue alone is very different.

But after all last summers promises, it’s clear promotion isn’t the financial base case for gamechanger, and that’s sensible.

Amazing the owners have put their position on record, in the simple language possible, and here we are…. Blinded by the emotion.

Would be great if he stayed, we won promotion and the finances take care of themselves, but we aren’t in that position…. We need financial clarity, and £35 million does that.

We don’t need to sell….. we really DO.

Go and study accounts… no offence but this is basic.

Delap through 24/25 was a choice… it’s the only way we could meet our compliance, otherwise through 25/26 gives us more leverage for a year longer too.

You don’t need to see the accounts.

You just need to understand the basics.

Omari was gone the second that Delap deal was pulled forward… lower our liabilities, give us scope for signings spread over longer, and mitigate PSR.

This is why your crap about relegation being progress was just plain wrong.

We lose our best young players.

If you can publish why you think our finances don’t require player sales, that would be great… send them to Brett too… because he seems confused.

The worst record in our history .., obviously relative to the league we’re in.., not suggesting Colin Quaner would get a game.

Our worst ever points total.., and we earned that too.., lack of quality, and lack of physicality.

Ollie won’t solve the problem, but he’ll add some much needed teeth.

Love George to bits .., but our entire squad of forward areas doesn’t do the nasty stuff well enough…, aside from Chaplin who runs through walls but sadly doesn’t have the stature.

Moore doesn’t have the quiality but created space for others, we haven’t had a forward that occupies defenders and creates space for us to play.., we miss a Murphy or Moore type or at least a pest like Ollie.

Suspect he’ll end up a cult hero like Shefki if he signs.

No doubt those moralising will soon forget their morals like they did with our captain.

It seems the moral compass of some fans only extends as far as them liking a player or not.

A one off mistake or a lifetime of bigotted ideals .., I think we should focus on the football.., otherwise we all look like hypocrites.

Our captain didn’t think gay people are anyone’s equal, not sure we should be aiming for moral superiority, just winning football games, and ensuring any lessons have been taken.

People make mistakes.., the condemnation and judgement from a minority on here is laughable .., I’m sure he’s grown up a bit, and he’s exactly the nasty profile we need.

We were a ‘nice’ team last season.

The worst in our clubs entire history…, and the two do conflate.

You wouldn’t want to knock Butcher, Beattie, or a Marriners pint over would you…, you need an edge at the top of football.

We didn’t have that last season.

People make mistakes, usually it’s the people trying to project they’re perfect that are the biggest weapons. Often sociopaths .., you know the type.

Our leader didn’t think gay people should be a thing…, nobodies perfect…, as for his record, he’s played more top flight games at 29 than anyone at our club.., bags of experience at a level above this, and he’s had great seasons at this level - he’s been promoted with Swansea and Sheff Utd out of this league…, 15 goals in Sheffs promotion season, who wouldn’t take that.

Scores goals and creates havoc. And ran rings around Bellingham et al last season.

PS I don’t wear socks, hence the surprise.

Muric will be our No 1 by end of season...
at 13:03 31 Jul 2025

Not sure that’s true… we generally defended worse as the season progressed and confidence slipped.., I wouldn’t conflate that to when Muric was dropped for being so poor in most metrics.

That he’s for sale. And everyone connected with his signing has ‘left by mutual consent’ puts the debate to bed.

Him redirecting his career here, is a nut point, I can’t see a scenario where he’s here to do that.

No way are we paying his wages to be number two, where’s the value in that??

That Palmer shares some of his weaknesses is irrelevant, he’s a bit better, has vast EFL experience, and is cheaper.

Muric out on loan if we can’t get a buyer, it’s certain.

He’s pure profit. A £7 million sale can leverage a much bigger purchase in the short term. And/or all go straight to this years bottom line.

We’d likely want him and Broadhead to go, and Hutchison (financially).

Suddenly we’re within touching distance of the £100 million player sales Gamechanger promised.

New ownership in August/September hopefully.

The P&L situation needs some clarity, and we need a longer term vision.

Sunderland spending this summer third highest in PL history…
at 12:51 31 Jul 2025

Ours was up to £150 million, including the winter window.

They’re about the same level as we spent, only they’ve targeted proven top flight experience.

All three promoted sides, very focussed on players with experience at a much higher level than the EFL.

Will be interesting to see how they compare to our points total. Suspect one or more will stay up. But who knows, tough league.

Surprised at the narrow minded hatred towards him, in some quarters.

Exactly the profile we lack and need, nasty.

11 goal contributions last season in a league light years above this level.

That’s more than our entire forward group combined, excluding Delap.

He’s a handful, creates space, and has scored goals at this level.., and a free, will cost a fair bit in wages but would add something different to the group.

We have lightweight and technical coming out of our ears .., we crave a nuisance. Sign him up.

Muric will be our No 1 by end of season...
at 16:11 30 Jul 2025

I’ve never seen a keeper (for any club) with such stature, be so measurably poor on crosses and set pieces as Muric.

Not hate.., would have loved him to be amazing, he just isn’t.

He struggles to come out of his six yard area, and even flaps and retreats to his line in the six yards.

He is a good shot stopper.

I bet your point.., some of his weaknesses are also palmer weaknesses and it’s all relative.

The ‘ceiling bit’ I struggle with…, he’s 26, if not at his peak for a keeper he’s not far off, maybe 30 for keepers etc but progress doesn’t really work like that, if you don’t even have the basic skills.

He’s capped 47 times internationally, that’s a huge amount of experience at a nice to at times VERY high level.

He isn’t suddenly becoming good either his feet, good in crosses, bossing his area.

He’s had his 10,000 hours…, ten times over!!

This is it.

He is what he is…, probably does have a decent EFL career ahead of him, but he’s one of the worst keepers ever to grace the premier league.., and I’m 51, I’ve watched it since Phil Whelrn was an actual prospect…, that didn’t age well either.

He’s maybe not quite as bad as some suggest.., but he only ever looked ok at a much lower level, with nothing to do.

That’s what 26 years says.., a lot of evidence.

Any of our 3 keepers could probably look decent this season…, it’s not the litmus test though.., no way is any club ever trusting him as number one in the top flight, ever, not even close, there’s a reason we sacked every analyst and coach even vaguely connected to his recruitment.

Not just poor.., but bloody expensive.., world class keepers cost less.., Cooper cost £2 million and he’s twice as good.., Pope, Ramsdale, Kelleher all cost much less.

Kelleher cost less than Muric.., let that sink in.

No wonder the people recruiting him have left the building.

I trust the clubs judgement in that context.

Omari buy back clause if we sell
at 10:36 21 Jul 2025

Why would Brentford or Omari agree to that.

He’s either had a poor season, if his only option is a promoted side, and he’s been relegated, or he’s had a good season and the world will be at his feet.

We messed up.

We signed only EFL players, spent up to £150 million, and so the two that are exceptional prospects alhave left…, and they aren’t coming back.

That’s the reality. Your fantasy is nice though.., would be great to get Delap back too .., also not happening…, and either is Tuenzabe, again, if we go up, he’ll still have better options, or won’t be good enough.

We need to look forwards.

We made such a massive mess financially, and strategically, that our owners are selling up!

Maybe that can be the catalyst we are all looking for.

It certainly isn’t more of Ashton .., 35 years not good enough (at that level).

So let’s have some integrity and park the fantasies.

We haven’t progressed this past 12 months, we’ve just lost most of our staff, can’t replace them because we are for sale, and our 5 best players have all gone.

One or two more might follow.

All our young talent has left .., we have the ones left people don’t think will ever make the jump, and that’s probably about right.

We have a VERY talented coach, who has proven he isn’t a very talented strategist and manager (at that level).

New ownership that can hopefully bring in experience off the pitch is still a fantastic opportunity, and we still have a talented EFL group, and that’s reason to be optimistic.

We missed a generational opportunity with Delap and Hutchinson because McKenna thought he could spend well over £100 million on EFL talent and prove he could coach the gap.

Thats ego, and he was miles off the levels he thought he was at…, miles off.

Leeds will spend less, are signing only proven players with loads of top division experience and may well also be relegated.

But they’ll have spent less…, and not have our liabilities, and have a better side than us by a distance.

So let’s stop dreaming and have some honesty, even if it doesn’t feel great.

Omari .., gone forever I’m afraid, and our senior management team don’t deserve him.., we made SO many poor decisions, and we still are.

No wonder Gamechanger would rather fold their hand…, they’ve lost faith in Ashton and don’t have the desire to put it right.

Onwards.

He’s quality. They’ve sold half their best players, so he’ll be staying …, if they wanted him away in the position they are in (likely closer to relegation than ever) they’d sell him, and we don’t have that sort of money, certainly for that area of the pitch.

We have a bakers dozen for those roles…, and ONE player for the crucial double pivot.

Wouldn’t be shocked though…, McKenna does seem to love a lightweight tricky player, less so someone in the engine room.

We look powder puff these days.., if that continues, it could be a tough season.

Sam and Tuenzabe were a real presence - Kipre is physical, but we certainly need more that type than we do another option to add to Ogbenne. burns, Chaplin, Sammie, Broadhead, Clarke, Philogene and even Taylor and Humphreys would be better in the 10 than the 6.

We seem to have a couple of cracking options to play an 8 …, a role we never play.

I’ve never seen our squad so unbalanced.

Hopefully not the case come August.

But no money for wide players, unless we maybe move another out.

Two CDMs and one Striker or two. And a couple more to leave. Jack Clarke will get a consistent run in the team, if he’s still here.

We’ve £100 million to raise, so maybe one or two more out after Omari.

I think Tuenzabe was a punt.., and turning Muric into a GK would be like trying to win Euro millions, five times running, whilst dating the entire love island cast, on a unicycle, that doesn’t exist.

We do take punts. Every signing last summer, with no top flight experience between them, were expensive punts (no pun intended).

We might. But funds are stretched and look how unbranded we are.

Sometimes we only play two 10’d but even if we play the usual 3 how many options do we have.

Taylor, Clarke, Philogene, Burns, Sammie,Humphreys (can play the 10), Chaplin, Ogbenne, Broadhead

That’s a lot of options.

Meanwhile. The crucial double pivot that McKenna has played EVERY game.

We have one new signing from France. Who has never kicked a ball for us.

VERY unbalanced - I think you’re right, we will sign another inside forward, but one more will need to go.

9 options in to 3 and 1 option in to 2 …., we need at least two CDMS first…., assuming Taylor doesn’t play there who looks very uncomfortable in that role.

You’re 100% right about needing time to gel a team dynamic…, but I think you miss the important bit.

A lot of the players we collectively spent over £100 million on, could have an eternity together, and still wouldn’t be good enough. Quality just wasn’t there.

As evidenced by them actually doing far worse the longer they were coached and together.

They never gelled and that’s down to coaching, management, and lack of quality, it certainly wasn’t down to lack of time together.

If we get £40m for Omari that is a quite brilliant bit of business from Ashton
at 09:30 19 Jul 2025

At best £10 million profit, which is a drop in the ocean to the up to £150 million investment, in mostly players now worth less than the liabilities we have for the next 3/4 years.

Might be best to look at that entire period when judging Ashton.

There’s a reason we are for sale and the owners have had enough.

Clue. It’s not because we did brilliant, but great value from the over £100 million invested, and are progressing.

I know you only listed to trigger people…, but the impacts of that summer have consequences.

No staff, our best players gone, and inertia with the ownership …, is just the beginning.

You literally said he made £600 million from Crypto, which isn’t true, according the the source YOU linked.

You said he will benefit, but you didn’t mean personally, whilst trying to conflate that he made £600 million in crypto …, make it make sense!

You don’t have time to write a long post correcting my mistakes, whilst writing a longer post, correcting NONE.

But you definitely don’t just focus on the individual.

Please, correct my inaccuracies, I don’t mind being corrected if/when I’m wrong, I like to be right, I love to learn, so correct me…, the reason you can’t is, they’re true.

Hood have agreements with the EU and Eth and SoFi have been doing their back end for years, there’s no guess work, no conjecture, just facts.

As for loosing the well …, it’s not ‘look over there’ because I wasn’t defending the republicans, or Trump.

I don’t vote in the US, historically if likely vote Democrat, but not now, I probably wouldn’t vote.

So I have no agenda, no skin in the game…, it makes it easier to judge facts and evidence.

I read the actual transactions, so that democrats are broadly corrupt isn’t my opinion…, it’s just based on watching them buy and sell stocks.

They’re corrupt (largely) as are lite of republicans.., and yes Trump isn’t adverse to looking after himself either. But he’s measurably no worse than many on both sides.

Not a poison well…, it’s an actual cesspit.

Listen. Some people know more than you (and me) they always do!!! Don’t attack them.., learn from them.., you don’t have to like them, you DO need to learn respect, rather than tribal hatred.

I’m sure a lot of what you think of Trump I’d agree with and is probably true.

That’s meaningless when judging policy!!

MEANINGLESS - your emotions aren’t more important than FACTS

Beasent will be next fed chair
Beasent wants to ‘capitalise the asset side of the balance sheet’
Stablecoins are here.., learn what that means .., even the EU are on board, let that sink in, like, love, or loath, they are bureaucratic and risk averse, it’s already approved. It’s DONE

There are lots of moving pieces.., nothing is certain.., but Trump wants his 1934 moment.

Good will be revalued…, all he needs is peace in Ukraine .., can’t give Russia a good revaluation while they are at war, a trade deal with China, again they hold a lot of gold, a deal has to come first, and he needs Beasent.

Gold will be re-valued to $15k an ounce, might be a different price, and it will happen quickly when those pieces are in place.

Next year at some point. Probably Q1

You better go and learn what that means to you!!

Protect yourself, your loved ones, and go and make generational wealth, but don’t risk what you can’t afford to lose.

Gold in any form, and the $3 trillion the US will put in their balance sheet from selling gold to themselves, will find its way in to assets.

Hold assets, hoard gold, BTC, crypto etc and you’ll make generational wealth.

Or just keep attacking people you don’t know on the internet…, because it’s fun.

Attacking Trump for likes won’t help you .., understanding that next year they’ll like have a budget SURPLUS…, yes, all his debt from this year, wiped off the books.., and a surplus.., that will help you.

Don’t be still trying to get likes for Trump hate.

Learn about the policies, the behaviours, and the impacts.

A devalued $, a re-valued gold, and a world of opportunity.

Debt crisis you say?

Legacy?

Ticks every box.., Beasent has told you EXACTLY what he will do.

So the stablecoin and crypto bills are fantastic for the US.., and every asset on chain eventually is a realistic prospect .., the EU certainly think so.

I won’t post to you again.

More product uses of my time.

But genuinely, good luck and up the town.

Loved how you didn’t read your own media source too.

Trump made $600 million …, he did…, but not from Crypto.

Read through the headline, and the agenda, and the facts will paint a more informed picture, then you can make better decisions…, and fill your boots.

They should have run an article on his son…, that’s who holds all the crypto…, what Trumpmmade directly was peanuts…, about 6% of his profits.

The man down the street has a bigger % exposure.

His son and family however…, they have much bigger exposure, his son runs a business in the space.., and disclosed huge Eth positions months ago.

Someone ‘in the know’ made $3 billion on one leveraged trade, within about three minutes when the legislation was announced - 300 x leverage, opened before the announcement, closed minutes later after it…, I don’t know who placed it.., but it was private off the books, and I have seen the actual trade…, corrupt …, or maybe like Nancy, hugely talented.

It’s a game.

The democrats. All bought and paid for too, and equally corrupt.

The main thing is the Bill will be fantastic for crypto and like it or not, it’s going to give you benefits and lots of them.

There is no moral high ground. Just people who haven’t worked it out (yet).

Specifically which bits? You said the bill was passed to make Trump money.., it wasn’t, it was passed to save debt repayments, which it will.

Your style seems very reductive, tribal, ad hominem.

You seem to obsess about the person, not what they say.

When it comes to corruption, I try to follow as many congressional stock filings as possible, they tend to be very profitable…, there’s no party political difference in who is or isn’t sticking their snout in the trough, and that’s a measure not an opinion.

Following Nancy, has made me the most money…., Trump doesn’t really buy much that’s all that interesting.

Think I’m about 90% up on Nancy’s trades.., she’s about 700% is it, most years?

How much is she ‘invested’ currently, is it circa $10 million? .., not chump change is it.

So who is and isn’t making money from their insider privilege is a very moot point in the US.

I don’t think anyone comes out of it with any integrity.

That’s why the issues are maybe more important.

I’ll look forward to you pointing out some facts, rather than (yet again) just seeing the person and deciding you don’t like everything.

The inference that the bills don’t benefit the ID and are for Trumpss personal gain, just aren’t true.

Sure he’ll make lots of money, so will Nancy, and every Democrat and Republican from the advisory committee they sit on, that’s just how they roll (sadly).

Who did you think ran the US under the democrats?

Eye watering debt, finance institutions soaking up all their GDP in debt repayments, off shoring all their jobs to modern ‘slave Labour’ in Asia .., for profit.

You don’t genuinely describe that as ‘progressive’ do you?

Ethnic Muslims in China murdered, and suicide nets in factories, where working conditions are so bad, people killnthemselves at work …, and the solution is to put up nets to catch them!

Do you honestly think that’s a kinder style of politics?

What was it Apple and Nike said.

We are there for the skills, they’re good a tooling, not cheap wages…., that’s what evil looks like to me.

Those three global funds, that literally bought the media and politicians.

They don’t have a hard time manipulating someone as reductive and tribal as you do they.

I can’t imagine voting for corruption, modern slavery, and giving all out money to world banks…., and calling it ‘progressive’

It’s sounds…., well regressive.

I have ponder if making Trillions less in interest payments bothers them, and the media they own?

Maybe read their media narrative…, and then you can tell what opinion they’ve given you,

Stablecoins…., saving our bond crisis, lowering inflation, interest rates, and driving GDP.

You’ll benefit a lot…, kicking and screaming no doubt.

Maybe you can set up a just giving for those private equity goliaths you clearly adore.

I’m not sure you see anything beyond tribe, and emotion.

Wake up buddy…, or get left behind.

Your choice.

You don’t like the legislation? Doesn’t it help take some power away from a small number of financial instititions? Help the US sell more debt to their own banks, generally stabilise global economies.

There’s a global debt crisis, I’m sure you know.

Without this, they likely won’t be able to sell debt, neither will anyone else, and the world’s financial system as we know it will collapse.

More liquid markets, will make a lot of money, for a lot of people, but it doesn’t change the fact that this bill is hugely progressive for dealing with their economic issues.

Whatever your political ideals, why wouldn’t you want to save hundreds of billions of $ in debt repayments?

Whether you spend it on tax cuts, services, both, they are choices, but saving the money in the first place (and this isn’t DOGE.., it’s literally stopping banks charging more for debt and the US spending its money just to service debt).

Stablecoins will allow the yields to reduce and debt to be sold easier and more cheaply,

Everyone in the US and probably globally, wins.

Maybe not BRICS if they want a’to remove the $ as a reserve currency.

Two things can be true at once.

It can be brilliant legislation, and unfortunately some individuals including the president use it to make money.

My advice. Dont fall in to the trap of being reductive and playing the man, especially with Trump.

That’s to behave just like him!!!

See issues and problems, and try to understand sometimes he’ll be 100% right, even if it’s through his prism of finding ways to make sure he benefits.

He doesn’t bring legislation to make money…, he had billions.

What’s obvious is, he brings the legislation (just taking about this crypto legislation) that works for the US and the world truthfully, then he makes sure his advantage on timing he uses to make money on top.

It’s cynical. But the policy is for the US, then Trump.

You’ll need to park a binary, reductive, tribal hatred, if you want to be on the right side of issues.

To oppose this, is to say paying $100 billion of US money this year alone in additional bank interest to global institutions and fat bankers - is a good thing.

I don’t think you do believe that.

Maybe follow the money …, Hood, Eth, SoFi, most crypto is pumping, Visa etc dumping.

You could have made a lot of money too.

Not from being cynical but by seeing a system where Visa charge businesses a fortune, and YOU pay those fees, as broken!!

Stablecoins also fix that…, MUCH lower transaction fees, so everyone wins.

As you say…, the Democrats look small, petty, and honestly, irrelevant.

The were too risk adverse to the benefits of this in power, because truthfully they were scared of what they don’t understand.

Trump smell weakness.

I don’t like Trump, this is great legislation for everyone.

Both those things can be and are true.

Buy those brands, it’s still an early days trade.

Robinhood, Etherium will underpin (initially) the retail offering and the picks and shovels, SoFi the back end software even for other banks.

Their rise is far from over, it’s just the end of the beginning for them.

JPM, Visa they’ll all have stablecoins, but they are playing catch up.

The US having billions more to spend, bond markets less likely to stop completely and tank global economies, it’s genuinely a good news bill…, there’s no hiding that, don’t have to like the messenger, but the reality isn’t changing.
