Really good piece that puts things into perspective and certainly softens the blow slightly. A creative winger in the summer is a must. Murphy and Sears have been terrific, if we can find a new creative influence to provide a more regular source of ammunition then we can take one step further forward. |

An enjoyable read, most optimistic I've felt about our fortunes in a long time... And I agree, on paper Davies and Chopra is potentially a prolific partnership at Championship level. |

I would really like to see us get this lad, Portsmouth fans rate him very highly. He would provide us a much needed utility option. |

In some ways almost a perfect blog in my opinion... I agree with absolutely everything said here. Sounds like this summer will be another active window for us. We can't keep tinkering at every opportunity, we need to to stop looking for the perfect formula, rather, let the perfect formula find us. |
 | News Comment | Jewell to Make Coppinger Enquiry at 23:34:31
While this blog outlines some very useful pointers, modern day football makes many of these targets unrealistic. It's great to have youth players coming through the ranks, giving them first team action can reap the benefits if they adjust quickly... But where are we suddenly going to find 6 gems rising through our academy? Top class coaching can certainly help, but it takes raw ability toppled with a "wise head sitting on them shoulders" to succeed at this level, that invariably applies to the whole football league. This is football, if you aren't good enough, you aren't good enough. |

Cresswell and Edwards... In a defence that that has leaked 75 goals in the Championship, says it all really unfortunately. Having said that, they're great attacking outlets |

Very good blog, narrowed it down nicely... On reflection I agree Martin has been player of the season. When we consider the Peterborough travesty Martin has recovered brilliantly. He's starting to fulfill that overdue potential. |

The points put forward seem very reasonable, the more people packed into PR the better- a better atmosphere should lead to improved performances, and you genuinely create a feel good factor around the club. I'd like to see some kind of ticketing trial spanned over a couple of months, then the Cleggs of this world can review performance on the pitch, and look at the profit margins. |

Great blog, beautifully pieced together. I think we have to focus on the positives over the last couple of months, this set of players has been winning games... So why tinker drastically with a winning combination? I may yet be proved wrong with an awful conclusion to the season results wise. It's essential that we have a fairly settled team for the start of the season, we can't be lagging mindlessly behind after two months. |
 | News Comment | Jewell to Talk With Scotland About Contract at 09:09:53
I'm slightly puzzled at Jewell's comments regarding "time".... Whether we're having ups or downs, the fact doesn't change these football players have hours of time to burn. While Jewell seems very commited to every aspect of the club, sitting a player in a room to talk contract negotiations doesn't seem like a time consuming formality. |
 | News Comment | Hutchings: There Could Be Changes at Hull at 12:31:23
Keep roughly the same team, lets not tinker with a winning formula... I'm sorry, but I've played 3 games a week at a fairly intense pace on many occasions this season... Games make you stronger and fitter, rarely do they fatigue you over a 3 day period... I can understand fatigue difficulties with 2 day breaks, but 3 day, no excuses! They're payed huge bucks to play football! Accumulative fatigue always seems like a myth to me, just a petty excuse usually. |

While I believe Southampton will win, a modest scoreline in abundance with a battling display is the most important thing. |

Apparently he impressed, he can impress all he wants, but 3 goals against a dire Jamaica outfit, that doesn't sound good on the ears! |
 | News Comment | Edwards: Town Hungry Like Wolves at 12:28:47
Football can be a simple game in hindsight, wanting to win the game more than the opponents is the basis of any victory, even if it doesn't always turn out that way. If we can combine work ethic (High fitness levels will greatly help) with fast improving quality then the possibilities are fairly endless, anything can happen on a matchday.... The possibility of us beating Barcelona and Man utd seems utterly ridiculous, but it's not impossible. Momentum is a matter of belief, and both the players and the managers job is to instill that in to themselves... Look at Stevenage, the prospect of 3 straight promotions still awaits. |
