 | News Comment | McKenna: It Was a Difficult Week at 17:51:09
Under the circumstances, not bad performances. A little disappointing but we seem to come up against two banks of four defenders even away from home. Lincoln quite happy to kick the ball into touch and do anything else it took to prevent us scoring. But young Humphries took that goal beautifully, and the ball from Chappers was exquisite. It'll be interesting to see how we perform against Rotherham tomorrow, the stand-out team from League One last year….but we are so much better now, under McKenna. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-1 Peterborough United - Match Report at 23:10:12
On a day Ipswich have a great 2-1 victory, England go and mess the evening up! It was like watching Ipswich…played well but didn't get the decisions or the rub of the green! Ho Hum…. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-0 Derby County - Match Report at 22:36:37
Was it my imagination or were the noise levels a lot higher tonight? Great support from the crowd contributed to our hard earned victory. I had my fears when McGoldrick came on, but he gave us the penalty and did very little else….still luv him though! |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Portsmouth - Match Report at 23:34:02
Swedish Steve, yes I totally agree that ours is one of the least vocal crowds, after a buoyant start today, and are dumbed down very easily…at home. But away from home, we are every bit as vocal as the Pompey lot today, and really provide excellent support and atmosphere. I wonder why it's so different at home. Great game today, some lovely moments punctuated by two awful penalty concessions…. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: In Time We'll Be a Better Team and a Better Club at 18:04:40
McKenna appears to me to be a unique manager. And intelligent calm strategist. He has been gifted a marvellous opportunity by Mark Ashton, who is another Quality individual. The football this year reflects the management team. We are drawing where we would have lost and winning where we would have drawn in the past two seasons. Plymouth deserved their win but we also created many chances and could have got a result. I am keeping everything crossed that McKenna has got the same loyalty to Ipswich that Robson and Burley had, because he will certainly become a target, and it won't be long before they're knocking on his door… |
 | News Comment | Morsy Left Out of Egypt Squad at 23:31:17
Morsy an absolute star, don't understand why his countrymen cannot see his ability…..we can function without Burns and Leigh, but not without Morsy, so bring on Plymouth… |
 | News Comment | Burton Albion 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 21:52:01
Burton were much better than I thought they would be. But this is a game we lost last year and we kept our composure to score, play football and then see the game out. That's the difference between a calm intelligent manager and a headless Cook. And that's why we're going up this season! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Mixed Bag, Intensity Improved in Second Half at 08:26:52
Agree with Blueboy, having to rely heavily on one striker is a vulnerability, but I also think McKenna will be aware and work will be happening behind the scenes to secure another striker. |
 | News Comment | Town Make Bid For Leeds Left-Back Davis at 15:31:52
There seems to be quality in this player. He has played (and drawn) against Man City in the PL, but has also suffered from injury and no consistent football. But McKenna is no fool and will have accumulated knowledge from his sources and know what the gamble is. No one can know until he signs and plays for us. But my gut-feel is good. |
 | News Comment | Former Forward Clarke Dies at 22:57:50
Frank was a great guy, he actually refereed one of our youth matches and showed support for our boys club. Jimmy Robertson was tremendous on the right wing for Ipswich, and Clarkey benefitted from his superb runs and crosses. |

What a wonderful post. You outdate me when I arrived from Ireland. MCGarry was my coach. Hard man… |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers - Match Report at 22:55:22
@BlueRuin, I seem to remember him (Akin) coming on and scoring against us a few seasons ago. I could hardly believe it! I was marvelling at his physique…he looks like he couldn't play Sunday League….Yet he's still playing for Wycombe, but at least we kept him quiet tonight. That's a big improvement…. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers - Match Report at 22:38:20
A much better performance this evening. More positive in going forward. More positive in defending, and running forward with the ball. Wolfs best game of the season and Edmundsons too. Norwood makes all the difference up front and he is a 100%er. Evans looking and playing more confidently. Morsy (lucky to stay on) but consistently reliable (he should have stuck the ball in himself). Good punches most of the time from the goalie. Limited Wycombe to just a few chances…. It's a good positive start. |
