Preston North End 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:40:29

For the first time in a while, I’m concerned that things aren’t that harmonious behind the scenes. When MA said to KMc “are you all in”, I’m wondering whether KMc responded with the same question, as he’s not being given the right quality of player in the required timeframe.

It’s not acceptable to sell our best players and replace them with inferior quality. Our recruitment strategy/team seems to be deteriorating rather than improving. People are saying KMc needs to look at himself, but I think it’s MA that needs to self reflect. It must be so demoralising for a manager to lose Omari Hutchinson, Liam Delap, Nathan Broadhead, Axel Tuanzebe and Cameron Burgess, and then not be supported in the transfer market by signing adequate replacements.

Hopefully MA has a few transfers up his sleeve, otherwise it’s going to be a long season.

Forest 'Close to Agreeing Hutchinson Fee'
at 22:39:51

Whilst I’m usually sympathetic towards players in situations such as this, I do believe that, at some point in the future, Omari will look back on his actions with regret. One of the main reasons I like KMc is because he consistently displays positive human values, which I feel is something OH could have learnt from.

OH could have chosen to continue playing for ITFC whilst waiting for an acceptable offer to be submitted, yet he chose to abandon his club and team-mates in order to force a potential move. I genuinely can’t think of anything worse than letting down my colleagues by leaving them in a more difficult position than they would have been in had I been helping them, and I think that speaks volumes about a person’s values and general approach to life.

Whilst I don’t agree with booing returning players, I certainly won’t be welcoming OH back to Portman Road with open arms, solely because he decided, at a crucial moment, to forget that our actions in challenging situations reveal our true character.

Head of Operations Carpenter Joins Birmingham
at 08:06:37

Seriously, is there any need for the uninformed negative comments from the likes of ArnieM and Widj123?

I’m not going to pretend I know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes and whether things are peachy, but the point is, there’s likely no factual basis for the speculation being posted.

People change jobs all the time – that’s just the nature of work. Take Rich Carpenter, for example, his LinkedIn profile shows he went to school in Leicester and has previously worked for West Brom and Aston Villa. Perhaps he’s simply moving roles to be closer to family, which is a far more realistic and positive explanation. The same could be said for Ivan Mukandi, who studied at university in Bournemouth - maybe he has personal ties to the area. Who knows?

What I’m trying to get across is that there isn’t always a negative reason behind someone leaving a company. In fact, their decision is often driven by positive motives.

Anyway, rant over. Let’s focus on supporting our team and creating a positive culture on this forum, i.e., one where people feel encouraged to read and engage with the comments, rather than being put off by constant negativity.

McKenna: Get Through This Round and People Start to Dream
at 06:47:54

blueboy1981 - is there really a need to leave a unnecessary negative response on every article. KMc is managing at Premier League level for the first time, having transformed our club by achieving unlikely back-to-back promotions. We’ve had to bring in a whole new team, including a number of players in January, so I don’t believe it’s as easy as ‘knowing your best team’. Injuries happen and individual form changes, so he’s continuously having to change things to deal with certain unfortunate circumstances.

I have no doubt that he works as hard as he can every day, and I think there should be an element of appreciation for the work he has done so far. I think it’s unfair to suggest he has stopped caring since being given a new contract. We’ve outperformed the other two promoted teams, when everyone tipped us to be in Southampton’s position, and we’re also not completely out of the survival race. Look, this is football, we win one and Wolves lose one, and suddenly survival seems possible again.

Why don’t you try supporting your team (assuming you are actually an ITFC fan), rather than constantly generating a negative atmosphere amongst your fellow fans. I think it’s important to be realistic, but slightly optimistic, as constant negativity really isn’t helpful for anyone. Outsiders keep highlighting our fanbase unity as our biggest strength in the relegation fight, so why don’t you stop all this negative drivel and try to help, rather than hinder the team that you supposedly support.

McKenna: We Have to Take Lessons From Game That Ran Away From Us
at 08:35:56

Genuinely can’t believe the comments being left by supposed ‘fans’. Have people completely forgotten how competitive we have been in the majority of our recent games? That we have been performing at a level nobody expected at the start of the season?

The thing I hate most about football is how fickle fans can be. KMc has always said, don’t get too high when things are going well, or too low when you have an off day. Today was certainly a day nobody wanted to experience, but it’s one that will make the team stronger.

Realistically, our Christmas fixtures will likely yield 0 points, but I’d rather the team learn the necessary lessons now and be prepared for the fixtures that really matter. I.e., those against the teams around us in the table.

Now is not the time to lose sight of the bigger picture and it’s important that everyone sticks together.

McKenna: No Doubt It's a Crucial Match But Must-Win Doesn't Really Mean Anything
at 06:35:19

Tend to read rather than write comments, as it’s interesting to assess the general feeling amongst fellow fans. Saying that, I’m finding the increase in negativity to be unhelpful and unjustified. What do people expect Kieran to say? - “This is a must win game and if we don’t win, we’re likely to be relegated.”

It was always going to be a tough season, with relegation likely, but I personally believe things are being managed well, and are consistent with the approach that got us to this position in the first place. The worst thing we can do as fans is create the mentioned ‘tension’ and make Saturdays even harder for the players. So, in short, trust the process and try not to forget where we were two seasons ago.

Also, in terms of definition, it’s not a must win game as if we don’t win, we can still stay up, given the amount of games there are left to play. Just trying to instil a mixture a positivity and realism!
