Best Could Get Deal as McCarthy Closes in On Another Target

I dont understand why people are judgin best already. You have to give him a chance. I can remember some unheard of striker sat in Sheffield Wednesday's reserves, he turned out to be one of our best strikers! He was free, never prolific. A few seasons ago Best was hammering goals inthe Championship. It is a fact that strikers dont always fit in teams, but he is a good finisher and different to what we have. Who would have thought Murph would score over 20 goals season before last. Lets give the lad a chance, he is still young in football terms and coming into his peak. When we have seen him play some games, then we can judge.

I find some of your comments amazing. When Mick took over we were in freefall to league 1, he has toughened us up and still made a team in the top half of the league with little money. I am sorry, but with the lack of attendance, noise and moaning at PR, we will struggle to attract great players, regardless of whether we spend money.
Why blame Mick? So we are not pretty to watch, we need to strengthen in the summer and clear some deadwood out. But tell me a manager that has never made transfer mistakes. When Mick took over we were going nowhere. He brought in Tabb etc…, the reason being they give 110% and run their heart out. He is not a gifted footballer, but a work horse and that was what we needed, and that is why we got in the play offs last year. That is why we are in the top half.
I am sure Mick knows what we need in the summer, but without Bishop and McGoldrick, we have lost our playmakers, the people that make the team tick. How many teams can cope with losing their two best players?
He made tactical mistakes, he made transfer mistakes, yes. Have you never made a mistake at your job? We need to back the boys and get to PR and support them, make it a fortress again. I spend a fortune at PR with my kids and buying in store and going to matches. I hope the armchair supporters are not just on here causing problems. Everyone deserves an opinion, but if you make it too loud, we will affect the club, the ability to attract players, and struggle to convince Marcus to spend more money when everyone wants him out and does not appreciate what he has done. He saved us from doom. Poured millions in to Jewell and Keane and that got him nowhere. Why would he want to spend his kids inheritance after those two? I bet we all moan about gas/electric prices or petrol, well imagine spending millions on a football team, saving it from administration and bankruptcy, and still the fans are moaning.
Sort it out, get behind the boys and see what the summer brings. We need wingers and a playmaking midfielder. We have decent defence, great keeper in Bart and strikers that will take the chances. Now lets do our part, be loud and support them, not boo them.
Ps. Get rid of Mick, who do we get? How many great managers will come in and work with free transfers? Mick knows the league and can get us out.

Wolves Win Chase for Wallace

@blueboy1981 - have you been disappointed with our performance this season? Reaching the play offs when we have not had a chance for the past ten years. I ask because our team is full of these "scrag ends" from other clubs. Berra, Chambers, Skuse, the list goes on. A certain Mr Murphy was a free transfer because he could not even get in the team at Celtic! it amazes me that you can be moaning about our transfer business when MM and TC have produces some cracking players from these "scrag ends". Maybe we should wait and see what they pull out of the bag before moaning. We are only a week after the play off defeat.

MM and TC have transformed this club, we may not be pretty to watch, but we are tough to beat and work hard together like an Army. For once we seem to have a team that sticks together and is proud to wear the shirt. Trust MM as he has pulled this club around.

McCarthy Keeping Cards Close to Chest

I find it so strange. Most of you commenting and being upset, have been the same people commenting at the start of the season, saying how we will be in the play offs, or how optimistic you are for the new season. We may not play the most exciting football. But under MM, we finally have one hell of a defensive unit. Look at Tommy Smith, he has turned a player who was destined to leave, into one of the best CB in the championship. We are not a perfect team, we are crying out for a playmaker in midfield (collison? Ambrose?), but we have lost to Reading (who have spent a fortune) and Norwich (who have managed to keep most of their players). We drew to Birmingham with a never say die attitude. We are four games into the new season. We are still missing two wingers and we look very narrow, but MM has got teams promoted and kept them in the Prem. He knows more than all of us put together. He has turned Mings into a decent left back, who will only improve with games, and without the boo boys turning on him. The same with Hyam. Stop moaning and get behind the boys. Wait until Xmas, with a fully fit team, then start criticising. There is always a team who surge in the second half of the season, lets make sure it is us and get behind the club we all love.
