This is simply ridiculous. Considering they aren’t supposed to play in any kind of match until they reach their 6th birthday, he should be just playing skills games and enjoying time with his friends. There’s a reason The FA make the age 6 rule and it’s focussed on what’s best for the child.
The pro clubs are treating him as a commodity, his parents think he’s going to be rich and famous and his childhood will be ruined by the promise of being the next Ronaldo. He might decide he prefers athletics or ballet in a few years but he will never be able to explore other interests, he’s already on a enforced pathway set up by greedy agents and clubs focussed on his net worth. It’s very sad. |

Why are you all so mad with Cook? He’s not going anywhere for a long time. A brand new team loses to a few soft goals and it’s the fault of the manager? The players don’t even know each other’s names yet, it’s a long term project with him at the helm and he has to be given a season to prove himself. If they’d played the same way but won the last 3 games, everyone would be all over him as a saviour. They are playing well, just haven’t got the results yet. If we are still losing every game in 3 months then I think we can start complaining. But right now, we should be supporting them and not screaming for his head every time the result doesn’t go our way. It was never going to be instant success with so much upheaval in the squad. |

Yep. Everyone from schoolboy representative teams to England first team is presented with an actual cap for each game. I don’t think they ever wear them out though, mostly their heads are far too big.. |
