Pretty sure it was 2 points for a win during this era so the yank did know his stuff! A win only returned three points from 1981 to try and avoid away sides always just going for the draw...bit like the away goals rule changes in european football etc [Post edited 11 May 2024 10:54]

Qualified with Hibs after being promoted as champions from the Scottish championship the year before. Again, I'm not saying he's a genius. But don't dismiss him and don't be so snobbish about records in the Scottish league when we're mid table league 1 at the moment. I think he should be a serious consideration for us (sorry my Scottish defensiveness is coming out 😅) |

Out of all those that have been realistically linked he has the best record. Not saying he'd be the next Burley but I have been massively underwhelmed by the other names and Lennon has a proven record.
I'm not a huge fan of his personal style tbh but most of that nonsense came from the sectarian pressure cooker he was locked in for years, getting bullets in the post etc...I'd be happy to get behind him for us |

Good record at a much higher level than us inc champions league knock out stages and multiple cups. Qualified for Europe with Hibs so he's done it at other places.
I'm surprised he's clearly interested in the town job and even more surprised to see so many of us being negative about it. I think he's the most qualified of everyone I've seen linked so far. |

Tbf I think it was a massive achievement to win the league like they did after so long. But yeah I agree he still has more to prove. A few more trophies with Rangers and a run in Europe would cement his reputation there... |

I may just be biased having grown up north of the border, but I also can't see why he'd want the Villa job, at least yet. He has done really well with Rangers, and if he stays for one or two more seasons and keeps winning the league, he will be a legend for life at a hugely storied club. You never know if an opportunity like that will come again! |

Me and a few friends had a similar reaction initially. I think on reflection it was pretty bad, ultimately intent doesn't really matter, it's how recklessly Jackson went in to the challenge. A potentially leg breaking tackle. Has to be red I think, but I agree that at first I thought the sky team were pretty OTT in their indictment of KJ. |
