For me there's just nothing to be positive about these days at ITFC with ME & MM at the helm. "They're a good side, they've got some good players". They should write that on McCarthy's epitaph. Stuart Watson of EADT fame summed it up perfectly on Sunday. We're just a mid-table, average team and that's as good as it's going to get. ME won't invest the sums required to reach for the summit so it's the 14,00 die-hards every week who somehow think we can reach the promised land. They're support is commendable but they're deluded and I've reached a stage in my life when I can't watch this brand of football anymore. Hopefully it will change come next May but without serious investment, a new manager will have the same financial constraints as McCarthy and we won't be able to secure better quality players to reach the PL. We'll be staying where we are for the foreseeable. |
