NSL... There really isn't much between Weeze and Cologne. There is a shuttle bus that runs from Weeze to Kevelear train station for €2 outside the terminal (takes approx 10mins)

Then you can jump on the direct train from Kevelear to Dusseldorf HBF which takes 1hr exactly, this runs hourly.

Cologne to Dussledorf from airport is about 40mins and some trains require a change.

I've been both and personally prefer Weeze as it's so quiet and your in and out within 20mins once landed. If Weeze is cheaper I would definitely recommend it.

I will be on the 7:05am flight to Weeze on Friday 17th if anyone needs help getting to Kevelear?

Thought I would offer my advice as Dusseldorf is an area I know well and the area around the low cost airport Dusseldorf Weeze even better!!..

I know all the travel guides put together by the club are saying to avoid Dusseldorf Weeze but when it is almost £80 cheaper and it offers better flight times perfect for a quick break away then it cannot be ignored...

I have just booked my flights for £19.98 return from Stansted to Dusseldorf Weeze.

Getting into Dusseldorf is simple!..

When you arrive at Weeze, it is a small Ryanair ex army base- So it's small and easy to get through customs etc and won't take you long to get out.

When you walk out the airport turn right and you will see a load of mini buses/coaches, Jump on to one heading to a small town 'Kevelear' this will take you on a short bus drive (10mins-€2euros approx) to Kevelear train station which offers a 1hr direct train service into Dusseldorf HBF (Dusseldorf Central Station) round trip cost of around £12. Trains run every hour some days every 30mins (price may of increased since I was last there 2 years ago) Taxi's are available at the airport but will set you back between €10-15.

Generally the buses from airport run in timing with the trains getting you to station with enough time to purchase tickets etc.

Kevelear itself is a nice town to wander around and has a good sports bar called 'live' about 2 minute walk from station serving beer towers as well as a few other cafés serving beer and typical German food. I would advise on the return to get to Kevelear have a few drinks in case any issues with trains etc giving you piece of mind that your only 10 minutes from the airport.

So if you want the cheaper option snap it up! It's not as daunting as people making it out to be! Any questions I'll be happy to help! COYB!!!
