There is some quality there for sure and we know Mick will get the best out of them. However without an obvious Murphy replacement the style of play will have to adapt quicker than maybe was planned.
Good signings though and with Mick saying he will wait to January to get another striker hopefully we will be in amongst it and a signing will provide the boost we need - which was exactly what was missed last January.
Murphy back on loan in 6 months then?

Shame as if Mick could persuade ME to bid £1m+ then we must have rated him highly. We would have been looking at several other players in parallel so excited to see what the day brings.
However with it being deadline day other clubs know we are desperate and they know we have money. It could make it difficult to get the right deal as can't ever see ME reinvesting the full £3m, especially as we have already made a few signings yesterday. These wouldn't have been free in terms of wages at least.

Should be a good signing as long as we still sign a replacement for Murph. Heard this guy can play up top or left wing so hopefully we are still in for a Striker, preferably permanent. Suspect the reaction to this signing would be very different if a replacement for Murphy had already been announced. as it may be in the next 24 hours. Not personally convinced we will be in for another striker having signed Best and Lawrence but we will see. Expecting at least 1 or 2 new faces in based on this mornings comments of up to 3 signings. |

Happy with this as long as we still get someone in to replace Murph. Best is a decent backup - he has plenty of experience, is likely on relatively cheap wages and it's only a 1 year deal. MM and TC have already proven they know how to get the best out of signings like this. |
