Omari to Leeds would be a tough one to take
at 13:39 1 May 2025

I'm grimly fascinated by how this exact scenario could play out this summer. Do we really have the power to 'make' Omari stay if he wants out? It never tends to end well that does it.

I think sadly their desire for clicks and social followers means that's a thing of the past. A real shame, albeit a reality of local newspapers nationwide.

I predict McKenna to Spurs this Summer

Why would Delap go to Spurs? Partly because they're pants and also because they've already got £60m Solanke and Richarlison.

Burnley and Leeds in for George Hirst....

Joe - if you started from the bottom of the PL and worked up, which job do you think would be the first to seriously pique his interest? (Obviously pushing United & Spurs higher up that list). I struggle to see why Brentford would interest him, unless he has any doubts that he can bring us straight back.

Cunha to Man Utd?
at 11:24 23 Apr 2025

Cunha would play as a number 10 in Amorin's system. From what I've read/gleaned I think Osimhen is their number one CF target; Delap second. But with Delap's release clause accessible to probably 10+ PL clubs, there's absolutely no way he picks United.

Wonder when we'll next see these guys over? Kinda strange how anonymous they've become.

Blimey - Sheffield Wednesday might not be competitive next season then

We were lucky to have Evans. And we are *incredibly* lucky to now have the Phoenix crew. Chances of success in football club ownership must be less than 5%. Given that, you're always likely to attract charlatans who, when they don't get success/their own way, could easily run the club into the ground, sucking the soul out of it in the process.

I love the kit and actually like that we've barely worn it. Will be an absolute classic in 10 years' time. The rarity of use will add to that IMO.

Burgess reaction
at 09:57 14 Apr 2025

The Leif slander on here borders on the extreme sometimes. He's not had a great season but to hope we sell him is nuts. And Townsend is 32. He's benefitted hugely from *not* playing much football this season. I'd be nervous if we had to play him for 46 games next year.

How are we shaped up today?
at 14:46 13 Apr 2025

I don't think you can definitively say either, but it looks more a 4-2-3-1. And Johnson's grabbed a goal and assist, so he's certainly not sitting.

Doesn't this just make it all the more frustrating?
at 14:45 13 Apr 2025

1) We've been in this situation plenty this season. Hasn't typically ended in three points.

2) Chelsea have been woefully inefficient and by far the better side. First goal changes games.

3) There is a loooong way to go.

Would absolutely love to see him go to either Forest or Newcastle. Gives him headroom to move to a 'superclub' in a few years too.

at 12:24 8 Apr 2025

Sarmiento's stats in his time with us:

League: 5 starts, 15 sub appearances.

Goals: 3.

If he hadn't scored that goal against Southampton, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Potentially our 3 most premier defenders leaving
at 11:20 8 Apr 2025

Burger's verging on a dream signing for that role I think. I'd also be very happy with Downes.

I'm intrigued by Morsy. My heart says he stays but this talk of a Saudi move isn't going away.

So odd that people only ever discuss players leaving in terms of playing/not playing. Burgess has played a solid amount of games this season while flying off to play for his country on a number of occasions. He's played plenty of football.

He's been at Ipswich for four years. He now has the chance to take his family to a beautiful part of Spain and experience something new. Can it not be as simple as that? And if you honestly think the club haven't spoken to Cam about a new deal and understand his wants, then you're utterly deluded.

The rose tinted specs are incredible. Let's take Ali and H.Clarke as examples - we were united in the view they were nowhere near good enough for the PL. Shipped out on loan in Jan and have both done well. It exemplifies the jump in quality between the divisions.

If we hadn't have invested last summer, the squad would have been on its knees, physically and mentally, by Christmas. We'd be below Southampton.

Is the Football League simply more fun?
at 09:55 7 Apr 2025

Heartily agree with this. Was the Championship fun when we were bang average from 2015 - 2018? Nope. Wasn't very unpredictable either. The success of the last two seasons has warped all our minds to the norm.
