The first problem was the ref. Eustace should have gone before half time, the penalty, Martin getting decisions when he (Martin) kept falling over (due to his lardy backside and gut). The vast majority of petty decisions going to Derby.

The second problem was our midfield. We cannot compete against the likes of Hendrick and Hughes. They ran them ragged.
We missed Skuse and overall our midfield isn't as good a theirs. Simple. Hughes ran the game and we didn't get into him enough.

Up top, we could have been two up by 10 minutes. Tabb missed, Murphy the same, and McGoldrick curled a sweet shot just over the bar.

A draw would have been fair, but we made the mistake and that's the fine line you walk.

My inner chimp was climbing the walls, screaming like a banshee, but the logical side of my brain accepted they had a better engine room, which was, probably, the defining part of the game.

Charlton are a good Championship team. They play on the floor and have plenty of threats. Their 3-5-2 gave us problems. Bishop was less effectve as he was outnumbered. Tabb and Anderson couldn't get really into the game.

When we changed to 4-3-3 we ran them absolutely ragged. Tabb was fantastic.
Murphy's work ethic underpins his success. One many occasions he tracked back and snubbed out threats.

Didz is a Prem player, without doubt. He could have scored 5, fluffing 2 two chances and kissing the frame on three occasions.

Berra has the almost perfect game. He won every header, tackled with sublime timing and ferocity. Smith was solid, made a very amusing professional foul for his booking. He was beaten and just waited for the player to turn and he literally rugby tackled him to the floor!

We beat a good team with aplomb. It cold have been seven.

What we are now seeing are the fruits of MM and TC's hard work and guile.

This is the best Town team since Magic and Matt strode like titans.

Mings was missed, but Parr is a fair replacement.
Bishop, Didzy, had the ball glued to their feet.
Scuse 'owned' the middle

The only concern was Bart's flap.

Happy days are here again.
