 | News Comment | Town Topic: It Was 20 Years Ago Today at 11:30:47
I was in with the Oxford fans too, standing around the halfway line. I can remember some serious looking types stood just behind us, and being worried they'd kick our heads in if we uttered so much as a Suffolk-flavoured peep. The whistle went to start the game and the biggest one roared "Come on Town!", it was a fantastic day from then on. Remember dancing around on the pitch, oh and Thommo's goal at Southend is etched deep on the memory too. Maybe I'm getting old, but I remember really feeling part of that team in a way I haven't since. |
 | News Comment | Town Target Swindon Pair at 17:46:08
For what it's worth, I watch some L1 & L2 football as part of my job, and Ritchie looks a class act at that level. Left footed, but I've seen him play on both flanks, passing and crossing both very strong and scores some spectacular goals. Was surprised when Portsmouth let him go, but then some managers don't appreciate quality when it's right under their noses as we know from the Jordan Rhodes debacle. Haven't seen enough of Caddis to judge, but looks like 1.5m well spent to me. |

Got to give credit for the journalism at TWTD though, they even got the time of the knockout. |
 | News Comment | Gillingham Winger Watched at 06:54:43
I watch Gillingham a fair bit and I think it's fair to say Whelpdale has been out of form this season. He's already taken a drop down from the Championship with Peterborough to play with the Gills this season, so he seems an unlikely target, especially as by his own admission he's not been playing at his best since he made the move. Perhaps it was just to check his progress. Not keen on starting anymore headless rumours, but they may well have been checking on Gillingham's prime prospect Jack Payne who's a defensive midfielder. |
 | News Comment | Clegg: Debt Size No Huge Concern at 17:35:13
I know I'll probably be in a minority of one here, but I'd prefer to be a solvent, community-minded club in League One than a debt-ridden, Premier League corporation. |
 | News Comment | Ellington Delighted to Be Reunited With Jewell at 18:21:05
It's amazing how much negativity there is from people about every new signing and indeed every rumoured signing. Can we just accept that some on this board think any players signed by the club are either too young, too old, too inexperienced, too expensive or just too funny looking? And, of course, we'll accept that you are all the sorts of tactical geniuses that would have spotted the raw talent in the likes of Grant Holt, Andrew Crofts and Aaron Wilbraham too? (yeah, I went there) If Paul Jewell's a good manager, he won't just be looking at Soccerbase when he signs players, he'll be using his intuition about the mentality of the ones he's signing. If he gets it right, he'll get us promoted, if he gets it wrong, he'll be fired. I'd rather support him and the players in the hope the former happens, I'm surprised that's not what all Town fans want. |

To quote Charlie Brooker: "If the internet gave free back rubs, there are people who would complain when its thumbs got tired." This site covers all the news and, yes, the rumours about the club we love. If you don't like transfer rumours or opinions simply go to the official site and get your information from there. Otherwise, bore off. |
