'Like' is ubiquitous these days, isn't it? I catch myself doing it sometimes and slightly cringe inside. 25/30 years ago I am sure you only ever heard it from California (is it LA?) 'valley girl' types such as in 'Clueless'. |

The recent phenomenon of saying/writing 'between X to Y'. No you fools, 'between X AND Y' (or 'FROM X to Y'). I've seen this on not just emails/casual correspondence, but also official stuff like roadsigns, literature/flyers from national brands etc. Oh and that reminds me, using 'phenomena' when you mean 'phenomenon'. Actually, any misuse of plurals, which tend to not have a letter 's' at the end (which is perhaps understandable). For example, 'Media' is the plural of medium. (Edited for typo... inevitable when writing something like this!) [Post edited 19 Jul 16:15]

Exactly... Multiple failed businesses in the past? So what Mocked a disabled reporter? So what Convicted of 34 felonies? So what Adjudicated to have sexually assaulted a woman? So what Lies CONSTANTLY? So what Tariffs tariffs tariffs, chaos in economic system in US? So what He gets away with everything |

I agree as a general principle. It's just the constant comparison to men's (or boys') football, which always seems to accompany any criticism of the women's game, that gets really old really quickly (that's not aimed at you). |

Agree 100% with this. It happens with depressing predictability and I don't get it. When these people (i.e. men) watch a men's match, do we get endless comments comparing it to the women's game? No, we do not. So why do we get them the other way round? |

Exactly. People watching athletics don't scoff at the women saying 'well they wouldn't beat a good male club runner', or whatever (ok, actually maybe some do...). Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce would never have qualified for the Olympics if she had to achieve the men's standard, doesn't mean she's not a legend. |

One of those grey areas... she was in an offside position when the initial cross was played so that will be the argument for offside. But on the other hand, the defender made a deliberate play of the ball, so she shouldn't be adjusted offside from that. But you could also argue the defender only plays it because the attacker is behind her. Tricky. [Post edited 9 Jul 18:17]
