It's a done deal apparently. Lots of sites now quoting £10M including add-ons..... At least we're not being completely robbed ala D.Bent. |

Quite a few football forums are stating that we've accepted a 2nd Liverpool bid.... obviously I'll only believe it when Phil confirms it, but it's looking ominous. |
 | News Comment | Town and Forest Eyeing Treacy at 09:34:17
My friend in Preston said papers up there were reporting on Thursday that we were eyeing up a joint bid for Treacy and St. Ledger. HolbrookBlue: Civelli and Peters are clearly not good enough and Edwards is getting past it now, Martin shows touches od brilliance but touches of crap. From your list, I only hold high hopes for Carson and O'Connor, the latter of which is more of a wingback anyway. |
 | News Comment | Hull Targeting Norris at 07:42:40
@AmberAndBlack - I don't know many town fans who thought Norris was the best thing since sliced bread. Many of us have thought he's over-rated for over two seasons now. |
 | News Comment | Jewell Targeting Reunion With Former Wigan Striker Roberts at 19:57:32
Wow, what an anti-climax. After being linked with great young prospects like Goodwillie and Sharp, we now get this tripe. Older heads and experience (often tied in with lack of pace) are great in midfield, at the back and in goal, but not up front. PLEASE no to Roberts, he was good 5 years ago... |
 | News Comment | Town to Take Punt on St Ledger? at 11:29:44
No no no no!!!! A friend of mine who's a Preston season-ticket holder says she'd drive him down here for 500K, let alone 2.5M. He's a shadow of the player he was a few years ago. I really think this is a bad move from what I've heard from those who watch him week in, week out. |
 | News Comment | McAuley: Italy Can Be Beaten at 16:43:37
N.I. should win. Italy are absolutely clueless at the moment and new manager Prandelli is still experimenting and has no idea of his best XI. |
 | News Comment | Wickham Has No Intention of Moving On at 16:25:55
It's a lovely read but comments like this mean nothing in football I'm afraid. I will be fuming if he goes, I think he'll be a massive player for us; but long-gone are the days when the player himself has any say whatsoever in his transfers. |
 | News Comment | Bruce Set for Sheffield United Switch at 16:38:46
Yes, I would expect Keane to get a new CB in, perhaps on a loan until Delaney recovers, as I see no back-up for Smith and McAuley (I don't think Brown is ready). Good luck to Bruce. He never settled here and wasn't really good enough (for our aspirations) but always gave 100%. |
 | News Comment | Town Amongst Clubs Chasing Peterborough\'s Boyd at 18:39:33
We must sign this guy. He has that creative spark and skill that we so lacked this season. He would be a great addition to our midfield which is, at the moment, all effort but no end-product. |
 | News Comment | David Wright Confirms His Town Exit at 12:35:28
Eh!? He's slow and doesn't have an attacking bone in his body. Not fussed about this one at all. One of our biggest problems this season was a lack of crosses in the box, Wright's lack of creativity certainly didn't help this. |
 | News Comment | Keane: Players May Sit on Contracts at 10:23:14
The fact that Keane actually mentions Chopra's name tends suggests we might not be interested in him. I have high hopes of this Hooper chap being our new Marcus Stewart. |
 | News Comment | Magilton and Town Set for Court at 09:28:21
Nevadablue, there is no doubt that over half of Keane's signings have been nothing short of terrible. Only Leadbitter, Delaney and Rosenior have really shone. BUT for me, this is only 50% of the story. The other 50% is that fact that he took over an absolutely dire squad, and a club in a complete mess. Yes, on the pitch, things still haven't gelled, but he's had to start afresh from a load of crap. The other major changes he's made have been off the field. He's taken us from a being a prestigious club to being a presitigious club with excellent facilities off the field like those that he experienced as a player at Man Utd and Celtic one would hope. As I've admitted above, his signings have been bad. But as long as he keeps us up this season, I think Keane will lead us up, up and up. I think he'll have learnt a lot as a manager this year. Last season was the WORST football I've ever seen us play. EVER. How we managed to finish near play-offs was just because the standard of the league was AWFUL. We are playing GOOD FOOTBALL this season, we just have lost confidence in front of goal. And don't forget, without all those lapses in concentration early on that cost us a million goals in stoppage time, we'd have 14 more points and be sitting right below the play-offs. There is a lot less wrong with our team now than there was with fking Jim Magilton at the helm. How people still call him a "legend" for one good match he had for us in the play-offs is beyond me. |
 | News Comment | Magilton and Town Set for Court at 09:08:40
Jim just can't help causing even more trouble for the club can he. First he absolutely ruins our squad by taking all the quality from it and replacing it with pants, now he wants to take even more away from us. |
