 | News Comment | Burns: If I Could Bottle That Feeling I’d Be a Millionaire at 09:21:52
Brilliant to see all these positive comments giving credit where it is definitely due. I cannot fault Kayden Jackson's attitude. His pace is scintillating. He terrifies defenders. Luckily for us its Kieran McKenna in charge of training and morale, not a bottom feeding keyboard warrior. |
 | News Comment | Colchester Sack Former Blues Defender Brown at 06:02:16
I wouldn't be taking so much glee in their abject failure if they weren't such a bunch of spiteful losers. But they are, so I am. Souless stadium, plastic fans and a chairman who truly believes he is a football genius. One thing you are right on though was that it was a proper club when they played at Layer Road. Now they compete with Abba tribute acts for the use of the stadium, and I expect the Abba tributes get bigger crowds. |
 | News Comment | Davis: I'm Loving It Down Here at 10:38:58
This lad is class. For me he has done well from the off and just gets better each game. The clue was that McKenna was prepared to spend over £1M on him. Love the change to Leigh too. Just when the opposition is getting tired of chasing Davis' heels, McKenna swaps him out for a man mountain! Enjoy it, it's happening. |
 | News Comment | Keogh Signing Confirmed at 16:37:53
Nobody likes losing to Colchester. Not that bothered about this cup but losing to L2 opposition looks poor. However, highlights looked ok. Col keeper made some great saves to win the tie. I've got great faith in KMac but he needs to deliver. Timid cup exits tp lowly opposition won't do anything for anyone's mood. |

The Dug Out bar is still selling a choice of lukewarm IPA, Carlsberg or Stowford Press in cans and plastic bottles. I was hoping for a cold San Miguel! The big screen isn't very big. |

IMO Davis played with energy and confidence. For a new signing with the squad less than a week he did well. Our shot conversion rate remains an issue. Everything but the goal. |
 | News Comment | Carlisle Confirm Holy Signing at 16:17:56
28 clean sheets out of 65 appearances behind a poorly rated defensive line? Walton is clearly an improvement but I still fail to see the bit where Holy is considered a "bad" keeper. He was far from being the worst player in Paul's team... |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Focus is Only on Plymouth at 10:06:49
I agree with you ShakyTown. Talk of the play offs is bordering on delusional. We simply didn't get off to a good enough start to the campaign. I'm enjoying McKenna's brand of intelligent football. After another transfer window and thoughtful preseason training we should be in very good shape for another season in League One. |

Dancing on Ice featuring Accrington Stanley. Getting sick to the death of watching teams come to PR to fall over and roll around. |
 | News Comment | Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town at 05:55:13
Failing to beat Newport County (0-1 at home), West Ham U21s (1-2 at home), Colchester Untied (0-0 at home), Oldham Athletic (1-1 at home, 1-2 in the replay), Arsenal U21s (U18s) (2-2 at home, lost on pens) and Barrow (0-0 at home, losing 0-2 in the replay after he went) was utterly dismal. I was warming to the guy. I didn't go to the Barrow match but was really fed up at the failure to comprehensively beat another L2 side in the FA Cup. I was surprised to hear that he got sacked that night but I didn't get the sense that this season was going in the right direction. Watching Town play Rotherham it was clear after 30 minutes that the system wasn't working. We were trying to play it direct to Chaplin in the air when he was being man marked by a giant CB, over and over again. Chaplin never got near the ball let alone the goal. In the end, for me, it was Cook's lack of tactical flexibility to change the dynamics of a game that cooked his goose. When your tactics are completely predictible because you never change them, don't be surprised when teams set up to neutralise your formation week after week. Paul Cook has lots of excellent qualities but he needed more is his repetoire to succeed with Town. I wish him well. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Sunderland - Match Report at 21:56:46
Pretty sure it was 3-5-2, because McGreal said it was and that's what it looked like! But a good flexible setup that allowed Penney or Burns to drop to the back line as a 4th defender, when required. Actually Donacien had the licence to push forward too quite often, leaving Edmundson and Woolfendon as the centre back pairing holding fort in front of Walton. When it was working, and it was working very well in the first half, we overran midfield and Sunderland were hardly in the game. Couldn't quite work out the tactical change that SAFC made at half time, and neither could Town because our threat was nullified for most of the 2nd half, but they did counter our midfield advantage effectively. Town did well with a different formation today and SAFC changed their system at half time to match .... which really makes you wonder what planet Cook was on if he thought that he could play every game with 4-2-3-1 regardless of how the opposition set up..... Pleased for the players that they could finish with their heads held high after a good performance in front of a full house today. Would've been even better if we'd won though! |
 | News Comment | Town Closing in On McKenna at 15:57:39
Preferable to Lampard, Terry, Warnock, Harris blah blah blah... Young but experienced with a demanding club. As others have siad, no baggage to carry. He will want to make a success of it. He will be motivated. Plus he will have been trained in up to date coaching methods. If the players don't respect the manager, any manager, get rid. If he comes and bombs out, get rid. This is a gamble I would take at this point in time. No more long ball, can't change my system dinosaurs please. Still not convinced that the new players aren't rubbish though. |
 | News Comment | Brighton Could Recall Walton at 14:26:51
If your team's foundation is built on loan players then your team hasn't really got any foundations at all. In the absence of any currently better options he is a must buy. |
