 | News Comment | Leicester City 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:44:21
Very disappointing. To be fair Leicester defended very well, closing down and blocks aplenty. By both goals came from players with time and space in the box. This and the home defeat to Saints the hardest results to take. The worst season in the history of the club. I don’t like to criticise but persisting with Clarke is flogging a dead horse. |

A few points. We started with five players who were in League One two years ago. Second, we were playing without any recognised full backs. But the people who think we have lost the cohesiveness of the band of brothers are not watching the same team as me. In terms of negatives it was evident again today we lack the crisp passing and interchange of established PL teams and in the first half we gave too much time and space to players on the edge of the box. Finally, the support, as at Newcastle last week was magnificent and fully deserved the extended applause given by KK and the players at the end. |

I was spitting feathers when Johnson got sent off. Too far away to tell if the first was a dive or not but to make a challenge like that when already booked was suicidal. Completely stupid. |

Agree Bringmeakuqi cept l think we badly need to replace Morsy. That’s why Phillips was brought in although it was a gamble that hasn’t worked. We need a younger central midfielder with more technical ability than Morsy to bed in over a season. Every team wants this type of player but we have been fishing in a smaller pool due to a lack of an overseas scouting network. Will be made up if we can keep Cajuste. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: It's the Setbacks That Make You Stronger at 18:30:13
It’s good to read some more reasoned thinking here after the hotheads booing Saka etc. I hope they remember to cheer him on for England. I have been watching Town since 68 but not lived in Ipswich since 76. I am moving back this summer and all l want in life is a season ticket. I think we will be a lot stronger than our last Championship campaign. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-4 Arsenal - Match Report at 22:30:29
How many of those who think there is not a massive gap between the Prem and Championship were at Coventry where we won easily? And how many of those were there last season when we won but only just? No one likes losing but we have come a very long way in a short time and the club is in a much stronger position than when we came up from League One. I cannot see any of the current Championship promotion hopefuls surviving next season. And l would much rather be in our situation than Foxes or Saints. |
 | News Comment | Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud at 15:07:34
I completely agree with his comments. It has been very difficult but the team have consistently given their best. When we played Liverpool in our first game, one of the best in the world, we had nine players who had been in League One the year before. That is where we have come from. |
 | News Comment | Manchester United 3-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:01:55
Lot of negative comments and while I understand the frustration maybe it’s time to take a step back. The first thing to say is the gap between the Championship and Prem is ever widening and hard to bridge for any team, let alone one which started the season with mostly ex League One players. Town have had to recruit in a hurry and try to integrate in a very short time. We are clearly not quite good enough but we are not terrible like poor old Saints and Blades last year. There are real signs of improvement. Jack Clarke is so much better, Omari never stops and Liam is always a handful. Cajuste is now lasting the whole game and Philogene is also getting better. Great to have Tuanzebe back at RB- at least the problems were not there tonight. Palmer is solid. I believe we will be too strong for other Championship teams next season and will have learned from this when we next get in the Prem. Enjoy this season for what it is and look forward to the next. |

Always knew Axel was going to be huge for us. He looked a cut above last season. Don’t complain about him not being an attacking threat. He is basically a CB and he was playing against one of the worlds best wingers |
 | News Comment | Manchester City 4-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:39:06
Worst goalkeeping debut since Richard Wright for England. Positives: they stuck to it, Axel good as we knew he is, Hutch decent, Dunlap a bruiser. Plus l have to say having never seen City in the flesh before, they are truly awesome. De Bruyne is a genius. I now know how Exeter fans felt a couple of seasons ago. |
 | News Comment | Ashton: Five In, But That's Not the End of It at 09:38:30
This is far more difficult than the previous two seasons cos most of last years team are not PL standard but you cannot bring in too many and expect a team to form overnight. They will also want some wiggle room for recruits in January to address deficiencies as they have in the past two seasons. Selling a share of the club last year was really good planning as it gives us the firepower needed at this level. |
 | News Comment | Another Premier League Club Could Join Ioannidis Chase at 15:36:38
Cheer up Blues fans. We may or may not sign him but the scale of the fee signals we are not going to do what Luton and Sheff Utd did and spend peanuts. Nor are planning to replace virtually the entire team a la Burnley. Nor are we doing what Forest did and sign anyone with a pulse. Moreover going for a top striker indicates a positive approach- we are not looking to play England style unthreatening low block. |

Football fans everywhere, new season, great optimism. Me: where are the points going to come from? |
 | News Comment | McKenna Bookies' Favourite For Brighton Job at 13:33:21
Would be very surprised if he goes but Potter or Cooper would be good replacements. Potter built what de Zerbi has used (less successfully) and Cooper had an impossible job at Forest. TBH I wonder about Brighton. If l was them, I would not want someone who has never managed at the highest level. Adkins, who got Saints into the PL with successive promotions never managed the big time |

Just in case we all forget- it was a thoroughly enjoyable game which could have gone either way. And while it was not the result we wanted l saw no signs of bottling. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Watford - Match Report at 23:00:08
I can’t move for my bum squeaking. l sat next to a bloke (Scot) who had come down from Aberdeenshire and brought his little four year old son. I promised a return to his usual football poison- the improbably named Inverurie Loco Works. |
