 | News Comment | Fraser Signs New Cherries Deal at 16:01:13
For those wondering why we loaned him out, since moving to AFCB he's had a couple of minor niggles that were unfortunately timed meaning he's never really threatened the starting place of Matt Ritchie. Plus, given the form of MR last season he simply wasn't going to oust him. I'm sure Eddie would have been happy to have him as part of the squad but he would have found it tough to have broken into the first XI again so it made sense for him to have a season somewhere that he has a decent chance of being first choice. I've seen it mentioned here that you were a little light on wingers so I guess that's why it was a good fit for all. It's now in his hands to take the chance and try and get 35+ league starts under his belt. I can't see Mick picking him unless he performs so it isn't an automatic selection, he just have the opportunity to make a first XI shirt his own for the season. We've loaned in a replacement backup from Chelseas for a year, Atsu, so next season there is automatically a space available in our squad if he does well. Hope that clears things up! I think Howe really rates him highly and thought it was better for his development to play a full season than have another year of minutes here and there. |
 | News Comment | Howe Much? Cherries Boss Responds to Spending Claims at 17:06:03
"They've spent a few quid, a few more million than I have because I don't think I'm at that million figure anyway," the Town boss said at Thursday's pre-match press conference. Spending on wages is still spending Mick. As stated by your own MD, you have about the sixth highest wage bill in the Championship. Plenty of spending going on at Ipswich, maybe not on transfer fees but on pay packets instead. |
