I would love to know what the Ashton/McKenna plans are for recruiting next year. We will have a parachute payment some of which will go on final payments for transfers last year and some on other expenses but will surely leave a sizeable war chest. Do we do what we have done in the past ie buy a number of young players with a championship pedigree with the hope of coaching them to PL level or a few players that we know will be of reasonable PL class and excel in the Championship?
Marcus is well known to McKenna and did a good job for us at Championship level and is part of the band of brothers that took us from L1 to the PL so if we do end up keeping him I am sure that he will be effective in at least a substitute role next season.
The recruitment decision on several promising players or a few good ones will probably dictate whether Marcus stays or goes.

O'Neill: We Still Back Completing Season

Its only 6 weeks til the transfer window opens (17 May 2020) and the restrictions will be in place for months so surely its time to declare the season null and void for everyone except the Premiership where the size of TV money at stake probably means that somehow the games have to be played. Feel sorry for the Ladies who have played so well but have been robbed of promotion by this virus.

Dyer Leaves QPR

In 1999 he was an exceptional player for us and was the driving force of that team. He was widely tipped to be a regular England player and to become a football great.
Whether it was misfortune or the reported off pitch antics that were responsible he has not lived up to any of that potential.
His best role to use could be as a warning to the young players (and Mr Chopra) about the need to lead a clean life on and off the pitch to achieve your potential.
I will still remember his time at Portman Road with pleasure. Certainly in my top 10 all time blues.
