I'm somewhat younger (33, so mid-90s is my era) but we can even hark back to recent-ish times when Town were a mid-table Championship outfit but felt like we had an identity - under Magilton. It was interesting cos we were just as skint now but Magilton still instilled an attractive playing ethos, young players (Haynes, Garvan etc) and getting bargains (Walters, Bruce etc) and had an identity we could really buy into. The club felt way more together. |

I dont really sympathise with fans moaning about paying that money to see a 2nd string XI - it's the Carling Cup, you know it's not a priority and if you want to pay money to see a competitive Ipswich side go and pay for the important league fixtures. Face it - you wanted your glory day at Old Trafford and if you're doing that at the expense of important home fixtures against less glamorous opposition you don't really have the right to complain. I've said it a few times - I had a great day out. Got to see Old Trafford, enjoy singing along at a game with nothing to play for and as such no anxiety or nervousness - just enjoy singing for our likeable squad players who got a great run out. |

D'oh! In terms of pick-up and dropoff, I think it's a bit too early to think of that. We need an idea of numbers and what companies are available first. Topline thoughts are we do pickup in Brent Cross - somewhere North London so we can hit the M1 asap. |

London via Wales is probably a tough one. Again, we just need an idea of numbers for now, if there's LOADS of us it makes economical sense rather than trains. Plus, good fun |

Reading away is a 20 minute train from Paddington. Absolutely pointless organising a coach trip when a train is faster, easier and probably cheaper. Birmingham at home is one of many, many home games a lot of us attend and very much business as usual. Again, pointless organising a coach trip as many have regular train passes and use every fortnight. You could argue we could have perhaps organised a coach trip for Preston away or something, maybe, but August is a tricky one with many people still on holiday mode. September is a good start and hey ho, the chance to go to Old Trafford is a nice one. Cup games are best when its a new city you rarely get to visit due to being a different division - whether that's Bradford or York (lovely places) or Manchester |
