Boring VPN question
at 22:05 20 Jun 2025

VPN's are great for reasons many of us on here have in common, but they don't really protect you from being hacked. Depending on the provider they may actually offer less security or privacy than your ISP.

Strong passwords, a reputable password manager and MFA offer much more protection.

Palmer or Slicker on Saturday?
at 06:50 4 Feb 2025

Surely Palmer must be signed as first choice (excl. Walton)? Muric needs a little rest for a while. Not sure if he will start on Saturday and if that match would give him much over a weeks worth of training.

In my view, going for a new GK now would be looked back on as "fiddling while Rome burns". As has been said in various replies our xG reflects where we are. We need more in the middle of the pitch and need to be able to stamp our authority on more games than we have been able to do so far.

We were very successful last season with Hladky, who in previous seasons was seen as not up to L1 standard.

Well, sky seem hopeful

Agree with this, though I think the biggest impact was bringing Luongo in and I'm increasingly of the opinion we need a similar impact in cm again. I could well be wrong, not really looked at any stats but it feels the successful teams don't generally need to sub off cm positions, or at least not until the last 10 mins or so - we're often doing it mid 2nd half.

Did I miss something?
at 18:18 26 Jan 2025

Of course not, but the pressure is building on the game against Soton and we've seen a McKenna team that's lately been playing a bit within itself.

Success will come down to the result in a handful of games, one of which is coming up next and I think its fair to say some of the players are not exactly brimming with confidence. Understandable that fans are also a little on edge and the forum is a good place to air that, but def still all within our control.

Walton should be doing better there (n/t)

Yeah thought that was a bit poor but mind you the gaping Phillips sized hole in midfield really didn't help.

Which player from the League One team will you be most gutted to see leave?
at 10:38 24 Jan 2025

So many great stories but think for me it would be Mass. Remember watching him on loan, looked the business in a friendly then out of his depth in the first competitive game (Blackburn I think?). Then all those years later to be signed again whilst out of favour and arguably become the main catalyst for that change in form and then so comfortable in the Championship.

Great story and absolute privilege to have seen this and many others over the past few seasons.

Bounce back after relegation...
at 20:07 22 Jan 2025

Also, behind the scenes, club infrastructure at ITFC is far ahead of Luton & think that's where they have struggled, much more difficult to bounce back once you've lost the core of what got you up in the first place.

The equivalent of Delap leaving us in January I'd say

So, in the worst case scenario that McKenna goes to Spurs this month
at 10:53 21 Jan 2025

Would be a big risk for KM even if he did get an offer. Get that one wrong and by July he could just be another short-lived ex-spurs manager.

I think if he was really 1st choice for spurs then they'll wait till the summer otherwise they're just setting him up to fail.

It's right to fear a change like that, but think we've got reason to be confident that Ashton and co. take succession planning v.seriously.

Rashford
at 17:49 18 Dec 2024

Whilst I believe Mckenna would get a tune out of him and he would have an impact, I can't see it for a couple of reasons. It would cost us a lot and we'd have nothing to show for it at the end - you could argue survival is worth it but I don't think he alone would ensure that. Also it's easy to underestimate his self worth. Would Rashford see himself as an Ipswich player? I doubt it. I think it far more likely he sees a top European club as his next destination.

Yeah if you end up on a short visit to the US then registration is quite straightforward. As far as I can tell if the game is on Sky then it switches to USA channel, which you'd need a more expensive subscription like Sling.
