Clegg: Jewell Still the Right Man for Town
at 20:51:21

righty, if you read my post properly you will see that i dont advocate sacking managers, i still believe that the club should never have sacked Magilton, he did a terrific job on a shoestring budget. Given another season he may just have got things right.
As for RK, i'm afraid i have never rated him as a manager but always gave him my full support home & away!!

If you take a look at PJ's record you will see that at Derby he only got 1 season where he took over a poor squad of players in the prem and when he took over at sheff wed they were debt ridden so i think its unfair to compare those teams with the setup we have at Ipswich now... on the contrary he had 6 years at Wigan and not only got them to the prem but established them there!
With a bit of investment he may still be the right man for the job, i guess we will have to wait and see!

Clegg: Jewell Still the Right Man for Town
at 19:30:44

I am frankly disgusted by some of the drivel i read on this forum on a regular basis, whatever happened to supporting your manager!!

When Paul Jewell took over at Ipswich i was not bowled over by the decision but i understood why they took on a manager with a good track record at getting promotion... the problem for some deluded Ipswich fans is that you expect instant success.

I used to be proud of the fact that i was an Ipswich fan, the club that always gave managers a chance to prove themselves, the fact that some of us are stating that he's not up to the job is laughable. Yes he made some poor signings last season but what manager hasn't, at least he has had the bottle to admit it and is not sticking by players like Priskin (for example) who never put in a shift but came in for a healthy sum that had to be justified!!

I think we should all get behind Jewell and start recognising that Ipswich are competing in one of the most competitive leagues in the world; if he does get us promoted next season it will be a great achievement but at least give him another season with our full support!!!!!!!!

Rant over!!

Who Was Town\'s Player of the Decade?
at 16:33:57

Tough one!

Kuqi, Magilton, De Vos, Reuser, Miller, Wilnis, Stewart, Bent, Davis, Counago have all contributed hugely to our limited success over the last ten years but the standout player can only be Matt Holland!!

I think Bam Bam (Naylor) should get a mention for his commitment as well!

Keane Angry at Reporters
at 11:08:35

I was at the Barnsley game yesterday and what i saw was a very weak defence (suprise!) and no real idea when they got into the final third... until Counago came on that is!

Why is he not starting games? He absolutely must start at home to Swansea, him and Stead up front are our best option, keep walters on the right, it actually worked well in the last 10 mins of the game.

Ok, Pablo won't score bag fulls of goals but his hold up play and vision is exactly what we need right now, a player with a clever football brain.

I don't want to jump on the 'Priskin is s"#t' bandwagon but i must say, he had 2 good touches in the entire game yesterday, one of which nearly led to a goal i feel it is only fair to add, but that is just not good enough over 70 mins of football!

As for the defence, i don't entirely blame Keane for this, we have always suffered in this area and it has not helped that we have not had a consitent back four this season due to injuries and suspensions.

On the positive side, Peters was excelllent against a pacey winger in 'campbell rice' who never got a sniff, and it was good to see David wright back in the frame.

IN KEANO WE MUST TRUST!!!!!!

Priskin Called Up

Just something to keep in mind for those that say they know about football; you can judge a player on his previous club too!!

I have a very good friend that is a season ticket holder at Watford and he told me Watford should have paid us 1.7million to take him.

This may have impaired my view on him but from what i have seen so far, i don't believe he is any better than Stead, Wickham, Counago or Rhodes (shame he's gone).

Oh and for those that state ' we don't need supporters like you' or words to that effect, i was actually not one of those fans who contributed to getting Magilton (who i still believe will make a great manager and was building a good squad at Ipswich) the sack!! They are the fans we don't want which unfortunately is the majority!

Lisbie Nets Twice as U\'s Destroy Canaries
at 20:22:46

Pleased for Lisbie... however i do agree with WickedBlue above, Lisbie is at the level he is best at, it was a gamble when JM signed him which didn't work out, every manager in the game is entitled to that mistake. So to echo WickedBlue's comment lets leave JM alone and wish him well at QPR (not too well), who can forget the play off final against bolton in 2000, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have reached the prem and had our greatest season in years!
