Good man, Frank. Illegitimi non carborundum!

Contrast his mature response to harassment on Twitter with that of of a certain former ITFC personality.

McCarthy Expected Barnsley and Blackpool to Be Tough
at 10:56:50

Blimey - a slightly shabby draw and almost everyone's wallowing in deepest gloom! It's not like we're getting thrashed (or even beaten) all the time.

McCarthy Confident Squad Has What it Takes
at 08:54:23

I don't think we will (or necessarily need to) see much, if any, money spent in Jan.

We have a tight-knit, tough, functional squad with some good players in the wings (Hunt, Ebanks-Blake). It's been good enough to get us into the top six, so doesn't require tampering for the sake of it.

And, besides, the money isn't there, either under FFP or in Evans' budgeting.

Seasider - Marriot played an hour (in boiling heat) on Sat at Chippenham. Prob why he wasn't involved today.

On the contrary - it's a nice day, good turn out, good company, £5 to watch our youths. Not bad!

Bramble to Train at Town
at 09:48:32

I admit that I wasn't always Bramble's biggest fan, but he is quality and has done a lot for the club.

On the other hand, as others have said, I'd be wary of splitting up the very effective Smith/Chambers partnership to introduce one individual star player.

Birmingham Win Was Vital
at 09:25:53

Their away and our home form are both extremely strong. Could be interesting, their quite prolific attack against our niggardly defence. I'm thinking it could be a draw - but a draw is enough!

Hands Off Our Town!
at 09:03:36

@burwellian - ALB was not the only player at fault in that game (when a not very good Town team were caught by a rising Norwich anyway) and I really think people should stop clobbering him for that one result.

@pessimistic - Excellent blog. Spot on.

Jewell Considering Town Future After Hull Defeat
at 23:07:45

Lot of unnecessarily unpleasant comments, given the bloke's tried his hardest for ITFC, but it hasn't worked and now it seems he's beaten. Or do you all expect to be personally abused every time you lack competence at work?

Villa's Cresswell Move at Early Stage
at 13:03:52

It was inevitable that, sooner or later, there would be interest in some of our promising youngsters (Cressy, JET, maybe Martin and Smith, even). £3.5m is fairly big money, £6m a fortune. How many payers have ITFC ever sold for even the lesser of those two figures?

I'd obviously like Cresswell to stay, but we should not be surprised at receiving bids for our decent players.

If he's happy to take a sufficient wage-cut to suit the club, then sign him up! Good cover and loads of experience to pass on to our yongsters.

Jewell: It's Been a Rollercoaster So Far
at 11:20:09

Probably not the worst 12 months in the history of ITFC. Well done PJ for the 6-0 thrashing of Doncaster, the 2-0 away win at high-flying Cardiff, the 3-0 at Bristol, the 3-1 against Brighton, and the best turnaround of all the 5-3 away win at Barnsley. There are probably a few more that I've forgotten about. PJ is lucky to have the most tolerant boss in the league with ME. I hope he turns it around, and there are some signs that he may be able to.
