i presume he's got the stats to back that up .... anyone got the raw data to see if under PJ we win more games when we score first ? .... it hasn't felt that way with the defensive issues. |

Usual public utterances from a business figure who knows the downside of honesty is greater than the upside. I guess his time with keane doesn't hold fond memories for the young talent he allowed to go, that he's now trying to promote. Clearly he doesn't want the frustration of swapping managers every 2 years, however it will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season if we are still struggling. Evans can't surely stick with a manager who has confessed this weekend to being unable to train and pick a defence. In the end he's right, nobody wants to lose, but emotion counts for nothing - results do and they are far easier to measure. |

Good blog and as far as tactics go I agree. However the answer to win or lose I think is a little simpler. Coventry didn't press and allowed us to play. When we get pressed and it's been that way for a while, the players panic and play poor passes or hoof upfield. |

I do hope this is some fancy football speak that "normal" managerial folk can't understand. I'm not sure telling your squad that not only are they not complete as a team but they are also not there mentally either - highly motivational. On the other hand he could keep quiet and do what the first 6 letters of his job title says - manage. |

WickedBlue: Interesting thoughts. I wonder if you could expand on your analysis of Roy's strategy from Florida as opposed to my blind view from my seat in the ground ? |

Trotter does seem to divide opinions. Personally I don't see it. He seems to wander around aimlessly. However, the stats with him in the side are better than without. Average goals conceeded in; 1.7, out 2. He has however played 11 games, so the out stat isn't as sound as the in stat. Saying that, neither number is good. PS. to the Carrow road comment .... I have 3 season tickets. |

Interesting responses .... If you'd all like some statos then here we go from my spreadsheet this morning; Keane has picked one unchanged side all season - Barnsley after Sheffield 3-3. Fair call Keane has changed his back five 12 times out of 15 midfield 10 times out of 15 strikers 14 times out of 15 Make of that what you will. |
