I think we tend to focus on our attackers 'lack of cutting edge', and then say the opposition attackers are more clinical. However, I think this ignores the fact that we were very poor defensively. Its almost like they are blaming the forwards but letting off the defence. Johnson was completely unmarked for his second goal. |

ArnieM, none of us now what went on, so I guess we just give him the benefit of the doubt. You ask why a coach would send home players, but ego can be a massive part. I am thinking of when Glen Hoddle managed England and left out players who did not take his faith healer/Phycologist (Eileen Drewery) seriously. Ray Parlour. Gazza, Phil Neville plus others, all dumped because of clashes with the boss. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: The Players Will Come Away From the Game More Confident at 23:37:09
It was a good first half, I think you could see some understandable nerves which led to some wayward passing. Now that they have the first game out of the way things will calm down and they will get used to the intensity of the PL. I was gutted Burns went off, he offers a great outlet which we missed. Walton did well and I must admit to moaning when he brought Harness on, but I thought he did alright. Lots of positives but I think we definitely need a couple of extra players. |

I love the way that while everyone else seems to be waiting for the Euros to finish, we are getting deals done early. Much better than 5-10 years ago when we were picking up the dregs and loan signings in August! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: After the Seasons We've Had There Was Always Going to Be Speculation at 23:32:45
I'm desperate for us to keep KM, but it is looking increasing likely he may be off. The thing I find strange is that Chelsea seem to be favorites. Out of them, Man U and Brighton, I think Chelsea would be bottom of the list, the managers seem to have little control on transfers but suffer the consequences when it goes wrong. I get that he is a Man U fan, so fair enough, Brighton are pretty well established in the Prem and well run, but Chelsea are a basket case, he will be lucky to last a season. Best stick with us I think! |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Bristol City - Match Report at 00:11:03
I think it's a great sign that we can play relatively badly and still grind out victories. Losing only 4 games this season is an achievement that no other club has done. |

Thank God for the January transfer window, added some much needed depth to the squad. Moore, Sarmiento, Travis and Ali all called into action today. Generally speaking, KM and the team are doing a great job with recruitment, and getting the necessary backing. |
 | News Comment | Burns: The Club is Growing to Places We Can Only Dream Of at 23:59:25
I just posted this in another thread but I think it sits well here. I love the Ipswich set up, and Gamechanger/KM is the best thing that has happened to us for years. However, I get annoyed by everyone slagging of previous managers, particularly Paul Cook, he may not have been great but lets give him credit for signing: Burns, Evans, Bonne, Hladky, Edmundson, Chaplin, Celina, Aluko, Burgess, Walton, Kyle and MORSY! Anyone got an alternative view? |

Hi all. I'm just gonna stick my neck out here. I love the new Ipswich set up, and Gamechanger/KM is the best thing that has happened to us for years. | News Comment | McKenna: Disappointed Not to Go On to Win But No Complaints With Draw at 23:45:20
I fully believe that we can be in the top two at the end of the season. We turned over Rotherham, who thrashed Blackburn. We have the best squad in League 1, but I appreciate that the best team may not win this league. Its about grinding out points not playing the best football. However, I think we started well, have had a dip, but will finish strongly if we learn a lesson or two. COYB. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Good Win From Difficult Game On a Difficult Pitch at 22:54:41
If McKenna doesn't get us into the playoffs this year, I'm pretty confident for next year, he has done a great job so far. I think Cook assembled a good squad, so he deserves credit for that, but he could not get the best out of them, unlike McKenna. 3 point away is always a good result but its a big ask to keep getting 8 or 9 points every 4 games, which we need! |
