All seem to agree the style of play is poor. Will MM change even if his so called quality players are available it probably not. I believe the team are capable of playing well but the coaching is lacking. Perhaps we may have to wait for a few more youngsters to make the breakthrough and hope M M will give them a good run. I think we could use an experienced premiership player to bring them along. But and there's always a but who on earth would want to come to Ipswich Town with the present style of play. They have done reasonably well this season but one can't help but feel it could have been so much better. The supporters have been brilliant especially at away matches. Well done to you all roll on next season eh.
Good morning all. I came across this quotation from Brian Clough and thought it might get the day off with a smile. He was commenting on using the long ball. ' If god had wanted us to play football in the clouds he'd have put grass up there ' Have a nice day and hopefully 3 points
Yes a good deal the young man deserves his chance in the sun. A pity that the same management did not want to take the alleged £10 million offered for Mc Goldrick almost a year ago. It is doubtful that there will be a serious signing. MM is good at finding solid journeymen. Still preseason is nearly with us lets hope for a slight change of tatics and a fine start to the season.
A great season one which nobody really expected. Shame about the result today but failing to win at PR was a critical factor. Over both games only 5 shots on target speaks for itself. Still looking forward we have a desperate need for a couple quality players preferably with some Premier League experience and not J Williams on loan. Well done and thanks to MM and TC all the players and staff. Have a nice rest and come back refreshed and please work out a plan B
Portmanteau yes I saw your post and you give the blues 72 whilst my figure gave a low of 73 and I agree that if either of those totals are achieved we may have to wait for a little longer for the promised land. A good job they are only speculation.
Whats all this rubbish about arriving home from Leeds at 3.30am. Haven't they heard of hotels or are they just saving cash. They could all have been tucked up in bed by 11pm and enjoyed a pleasant journey home on Thursday morning. After all its unlikely they would be doing much training. They need to put more thought into looking after the players if they expect them to be at their best. Start thinking like the big club you thknk you are.
A disappointing result but all is not lost. This season for a change there are at least eight teams in with a chance of promotion so its almost certain to go to the last days fixtures. Despite our long ball tactics we are doing ok it ain't pretty but has reasonably effective and lets face it there does not seem to be a plan B. So far from 36 games we have 61 points or approx 1.7 per game that would mean we could get to 78. But and there's always a but over the last 12 games we have only gained 14 or 1.2 which would be 73. A close run thing but a bit of luck and everyone getting behind the team who knows. The promised land beckons.
A very welcome result. The main difference over the Saturday game was tthe goals, the football was still played mainly up in the air. It is likely that is the way we shall play for the rest of the season. It's too late to expect a change at this point of the season. The league table doesn't lie and despite our best efforts to avoid getting automatic promotion we're 3rd. This season has a long way to go. So until it is mathematically impossible the Blues have a great chance. A win on Sunday by long ball or not will be a great start to March and a final push for promotion or top 6.
