 | News Comment | Cook: A Really Nice Small Step at 19:29:17
RE Chambers. Playing devil's advocate. He hasn't got another year in him as a player and may well have been in the comfort zone too long, but I do feel he cares about the club and has its best interests at heart. He has been here a lot of years after all. Chambers has stated he wants to continue playing somewhere but reading between the lines I think Cook sees that his playing days are done and is maybe looking at a minor coaching role in the academy so really nothing to get alarmed about, but it's going to be Chambers decision whether or not he hangs up the boots and accept that or move elsewhere. Truth is none of us know what's going on behind the scenes so let's just wait and see how this one plays out. |
 | News Comment | Mayor Joins Plymouth at 16:12:19
Player reluctant to step out his confort zone. Football is a short career and he may live to regret his decision, time will tell. If we're looking to strengthen the left hand side we could do worse than Ben Pringle who was released in the summer. |
 | News Comment | Rod Stewart at Portman Road Tonight at 11:59:34
Had an email about this again this morning. To quote "The only thing Stewart skimped on was the material for his backing musicians dresses". I'll be at The John Peel Centre tonight instead watching someone less pervy. 😂 |
 | News Comment | All Seven Out-of-Contract Senior Players Released at 11:33:31
Can't say I'm sorry. Gerkin had ample opportunity to cement a place between the sticks last season and failed, Adeyemi is a liability with his injury record, Dawkins was a cheap punt that failed to deliver, Colins is way past his prime and Ward who is no doubt one of the higher earners is set to be in dock for quite a while. |
 | News Comment | Town to Announce Retained List Next Week at 00:53:48
Personally feel the squad is in need of a much needed overhaul and I'd be very disappointed to see any of these players kept on. Gerken has had ample opportunity to take the no1 spot this season and has failed to stake any serious claim and never will, Adeyemi has been stealing a living these past two years, Ward is bang average, and Colins will spend most of the season on the treatment table. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm Lambert and Staff Will Stay Even If Blues Go Down at 12:40:06
A few eyebrows were raised by this appointment but in a short space of time Lambert has united a fragmented fanbase and unhappy players. He isn't an old lag journeyman or an up and coming sociopath like the last appointment. He is quite frankly, exactly what this club needed. We go forwards together, each and every one of us. |
 | News Comment | Carter-Vickers Linked Again at 08:15:08
CCV signing wouldn't be a bad thing. Yes, we signed Collins but he is 35 years old and I'm not sure you can rely on him playing 90 minutes week in week out. |
 | News Comment | Blues MD Milne to Step Down at 10:59:21
Anyone else think Lambert may have instigated this? He certainly isn't coming across as a put up and shut up kind of manager and I get the feeling a lot of dead wood will be cut away from the club in a number of areas in the next few months. |
 | News Comment | Lambert: Knudsen Might Move in January at 19:18:56
hulltractor. Knudsen will not want to play league one football and they will want to get his wages off the books ASAP. After featuring in the World Cup he seems to think he is a lot better than he is and hasn't been shy at coming forwards about what clubs are interested in having someone throw a ball quite a long way into the hands of a goalkeeper. |
 | News Comment | Middlesbrough 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:13:46
I don't think even the most optimistic town fan expected anything other than defeat today. Our fate is effectively sealed and it's league one football next season. It's a shame that the Hurst appointment failed so spectacularly. On paper it was what we all hoped for, but Evans should have done due diligence a little better before employing a sociopath in a tracksuit. Be careful what you wish for will haunt us, but there was no way we could continue with McCarthy. Speaking to a Norwich fan he drew comparisons with how they felt about Hughton. It's easy to judge when you're not being served up nose to the grindstone football every week. I'm confident Lambert will take us forwards but you would need to be a miracle worker to stop the backwards step we had already taken when he took us on. |
 | News Comment | Lambert: A Huge Point at 18:50:37
This match would have been dead and buried under Hurst. Lambert seems to have the respect of the players like McCarthy but also a good relationship with the supporters. Anyone who goes can see he is passionate about the job in hand and is doing everything he can to drag us out of the mess he inherited. He has worked wonders in a short space of time and has united fans and players. Something he haven't had in a long time. |
 | News Comment | Town Advise Fans to Arrive Early at 11:27:04
A lot of us would arrive early if the match hadn't been moved to a Friday evening and we didn't all have to work. |
 | News Comment | Shrews Chief: Too Early for Hurst to Return at 13:24:26
On paper, Hurst for many (myself included) ticked all the boxes. It was a calculated risk that's turned into an unmitigated disaster for all concerned. Lambert has made a promising start at steadying the ship and if he saves us then the Hurst period will be little more than a quiz question in years to come. If we go down however, those opening couple of months with him in charge will have cost us dearly so no good luck message from me. |
 | News Comment | Lambert to Answer Fans' Questions at Thursday's Meet the Club Event at 12:45:59
Good for PL. at least his got a a pair of stones. Let's face it, we're not an attractive proposition at the moment. We could do a lot worse than Lambert. I don't give an airborne intercourse if he managed Norwich, we need to unite as fans now and fully get behind him. |
 | Blog Comment | Where Did It All Go Wrong for Paul Hurst? at 15:16:35
Good blog and spot on analysis. Thankfully on this occasion Evans did not follow the Ipswich tradition of giving a manager time. It wasn't so much not working with Hurst but falling apart around him, the plug needed to be pulled |
