Looks a solid signing, and seems a lovely lad too. Should boost the dressing room further and will be helpful to him living much closer to home.

Norwood and Carroll Released
at 20:54:15

I like this guy, has grown a lot in his time here with us, and sticks his money where his mouth is. Good servant to the club, and always stood up to be counted. It is a natural time for him to move on, and I hope someone gives him a good 3 year deal on some half decent money to see out his playing career.

McKenna: It’s Already Pretty Fixed in My Mind What Needs to Be Improved in the Summer
at 18:42:08

Perhaps a blessing in disguise that McKenna has seen the defence in the past 2 games give away goals, as in the 1st half of the season defence was our weakness. After a few clean sheets, it would be easy for him to assume defence is largely sorted (apart from left back), but given we have also scored pretty much zero from corners all season, he can see that maybe the whole defence needs a good looking at.

Midfield too, Bakinson and Morsy playing together, not sure this works that well overall. Would prefer Morsy being the defensive one and having a more natural attacking player alongside him.

Then we have the whole attacking play to sort out. Lots of work to do, but we take the best of this crop and add in some more quality, we will have a very very strong side next season.

Oxford United 1-1 Ipswich Town - Highlights
at 11:09:36

TimmyH for once I agree with you. Conceding goals like this in the 95th minute is the difference between us being a top six side or not. We have got a very good group of players, but there is no doubt, we are still lightweight in certain areas, and we can't be so overly reliant on certain players being fit. To become a top two side, we need to move to another level of ruthlessness and fundamentally, we need another 3-4 players of the quality of people like Sam Morsy.

He has slotted in so well at this football club, and the fans appreciate what a great player he is. Not quite sure why he is playing in League One, but you could say that for the majority of our first team now.

McKenna: It’s a Stage to Stay Calm, There Are a Lot of Points to Play For
at 07:40:04

It's time for our strikers to step up till the end of the season, we now need them to perform. For all the positivity we are still only 7th in the form table, and we have just had a relatively easy run of games. We need to be more ruthless up top.

McKenna: We Could Very Easily be Sitting Here Off the Back of Two Wins, We Should Be
at 20:41:54

There is no doubt we have controlled the last 2 games very well, but we have hardly had: "bundles of opportunities". Teams are setting themselves up to be difficult to break down, and are succeeding. Lack of confidence is clearly an issue up top, but I can't help but think bringing Matt Penney back would give us a much better attacking option down that left hand side, and he has a sweet left foot. Then you got the set plays, we should be throwing ourselves at those corners like our lives depended on it. But I think ultimately, we need a proper number 9 type striker, fox in the box type, Norwood is our closest to such a player, so I would stick him up top and get some decent service into him.

Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:24:36

The reality is, Paul Cook already knew the weaknesses in this team, and he would had them addressed on the 1st January. As it is, the new 'manager' now needs to re-learn about the players we have here.

Fortunately, the fixtures have fallen kindly for him, so we may still be able to muster something out of this season.
