Keaneish and others. Respect your opinions but to put a different view on this. Why rule yourself out before you've heard the offer - because MM is already presumably very financially secure (esp if the £1M bonus from ITFC for last year is true) so it should be about principles and what he wants to be remembered for not just the money. Also, he's in grave danger of not being offered the job and then being in an untenable position with us whereby he can't shake off the allegations that he's only staying with Ipswich because he didn't get the Ireland job. If he didn't want it he really isn't being very clever in playing this "no comment" game. I for one hope he goes now and we'll get in a Terry Butcher or other that isn't here only til a better offer comes in. He's been an improvement on RK and PJ - not saying much - but hardly a tactical genius as recent games have shown. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Campbell Won't Be Coming Back to Town at 15:38:48
How to deal with transfer speculation PJ - Opened his mouth at every available opportunity. Alerted everyone to who his targets were. Mentioned a load of people who were apparently joining very soon. Looked stupid when they don't materialise. [Well actually looked stupid full stop]. MM - While remaining polite and friendly, and answering questions honestly whenever he can without giving his plans away, keeps his cards close to his chest. Gets players in and then we hear about them when the deal is done. Clearly has a Plan B wherever possible. No doubt they won't all work out, but seems to be taking a far more professional approach. Another reason why we have a much better future with MM. |
 | News Comment | Henderson: I Want to Stay at Town at 10:44:54
Spot on RetroBlue. So many people on here with short memories. Go back and read SH's comments earlier in the season about just getting some games in before going back to West Ham. Now realised that he's not Premiership standard he's obviously been advised to be more realistic about his ambitions. Personally, I think he's very average. Some good saves, but just as many times has spilled the ball or pushed it back into a dangerous area rather than off to the side. Very slow on his distribution in the main. Probably better than Loach, but not good enough. Line up someone else and send him back if we can. |

The suggestion of Brian Klug in the interim works for me. The players (permanent and those wanting to join at the end of their loans) will be playing for their places now so may well up their game. If BK did nothing other than chuck out Wellens (Leicester use your own training ground to get your guys fit), Henderson (no better than Loach based on last night's showing) and Mohsni (sounds too high maintenance for what we need) and give N'Daw and Hyam a look-in as well as restoring Loach's confidence that would do me SHORT TERM. Then Evans should seek proper advice from those that know ITFC and know football (inc Mick Mills) on what structure he needs before he even thinks about getting in anyone to run the team. Just appointing another manager without a clear plan, guaranteed budget (just stop taking interest payments for a year would help) and a football savvy person between Evans and the Manager - Dir of Football if he still wants Clegg as his front-man - will just be another 2 years wasted IMO. |

Still worried that this is just another miscommunication. I heard that he was just off down the pub to get some ideas for Saturday's team and he shook hands with the man on the gate having just signed him on a 3 month loan to play in goal 'cos he heard the bloke was good at keeping things out. Please let me be wrong. |
