I agree with everything you have said about the honours system. It spectacularly fails to recognise ordinary people, without wealth or prestige, who make greater commitments for the public good. The one thing that does stick out for me about Beckham is when he bothered to queue with the British public to pay his respects to the Queen lying in state. Unlike other celebs, he didn't use his status then and was happy chinwagging with the ordinary folk. Unless his PR team set this all up, he came across well with the British public for that moment. |

The exodus was never going to be immediate as families look to see out the academic year rather than move their children mid-year. Working in the independent sector, the 6-8% figure that was proposed won't be far wrong and will significantly impact the £1.6 billion the government said it will raise. We will know fully in a year or two. |

While we would have clear and obvious players to make this team, I am quite happy that we just carry on picking up the points while other clubs and fans need this imaginary starting line-up to keep their hopes alive. |

So, if you are winless after four games, the season is over. It makes you wonder how much you know about football when, only last season, Blackpool were 23rd after the first 7 games having lost all but two. I imagine there were a few Tangerines baying for the manager's head then but they would go on to eat their stupidity later. You ought to know that every season, a team in each division, will start badly and go on to build momentum. It happens in sport. Not saying it will be us this year but your statement that a season will be over after 4 games is nonsense. |

Yes, just what arsenal need. The talismanic captain who couldn’t be arsed to show up on time for the derby against Spurs. Another expensive prima. Arsenal need some fighters. They are relying on the youth. |

God bless you for all the memories, Paul. Unforgettable. One of the club’s legends for sure. Who can forget his home debut goal v West Brom. You deserve your rest now. |

Agree with that Churchman. It was once a fantastic club in that respect. Like most ITFC fans, I am clinging on to the past! |

Totally agree. This is a pivotal point in our history. This is the first time when I have felt genuinely saddened by our demise, following many seasons of feeling despair. To think that we were once viewed as an aspiration by smaller clubs, we are now being overrun by everyone. We can only hop e that Paul Cook and the Board get this right. I fear for our future if they get it wrong. |

Either a term used to describe someone who is paid to carry out their job OR to describe the quality of their service. Ipswich Town’s players can only be called this in name. Their attitude is as far from professional as you could be. I don’t really have a problem with PC this season. While, he was brought in to change our fortunes, and to get us in the play-offs, my opinion is that these players have, over the years, developed a losing mentality. They are pedestrian on and off the ball; they don’t react to situations in a game; they are not as technically able as we or they thought; they lose all the big moments in matches; they don’t accept or respond to criticism. This is the squad and malaise PC inherited. It hasn’t taken him long to realise the decline that we have witnessed for the last four seasons and now he has called these ‘professionals’ out. Whether you agree or disagree with this, one thing is for certain. The players have proved they are not good enough, at Championship or League One level. This squad will not challenge for promotion. A new squad, with fresh impetus, ideas and mindset are badly needed. With this in mind, I am behind PC to pick players to play the football we need. I hope he blends some of our younger players to achieve this, as this is an identity of our fantastic club. He will, of course, be rightly judged on his recruitment and performance but he should be given this opportunity and not judged on the shots how that has developed as a result of years of mismanagement. What do you think? |

Agree with this. As we are still within reach of the play-offs, many fans still have hope. In reality, I hope most will see that we lack many of the ingredients that all play-off teams need - a consistent run of form being the most important. Consistency comes from ability, system and positional awareness as well as stamina and mentality. We lack all of this! In my view, we are nowhere good enough for the play-offs even though I would love to be proved wrong. |

Do you think we are capable of the play-offs then? Mathematically, it is still possible - but I haven’t seen anything from this team that makes me think they could or should be in the top 6. |
 | Forum Reply | Still yet to see any form of real improvement from Cook at 16:40 21 Mar 2021
This is a group of players who, over the past three seasons, [arguably more] have developed a losing mentality. They lack consistency and stamina, as well as belief. Realistically, this not something a new manager can transform overnight. |

Been like that for a while now. It won't change quickly either. Can PC instil mental toughness in this group? That remains to be seen. I wish him well with this bunch. |
 | Forum Reply | Lambert had to go at 15:57 20 Mar 2021
Agree but a manager instils a mindset and belief in players, as well as tactics to beat what is in front of them. For all his waffle, PL had none of that. I like the sound of Paul Cook. He speaks a lot of sense. It will take more than a few words to change this group's approach, including their mental fragility. |
