Most of the EU countries Covid bailouts were conditional on them closing their short haul networks where theres a rail alternative within a specific time window, so, makes a lot of sense to do this when you have good, well run publicly owned rail networks.
We have known this was coming and i expect to see it also spread to cross border journeys within the EU too where theres a suitable alternative. |
