I think you are mistaking greed for loyalty.
The only thing you have on us is youre financially more stable at the moment, if someone buys us things will hopefully change, and thats what the players are waiting for, that or as you described if it did go tets up they will be able to choose to go where they want, not forced to join Ipswich. All these playes either came through the youth or were bought for a relatively small amount, and none of these players are on anything like the wages our old players were. Their inflated requests for wages proves if they HAD to leave, the only way they were joining Ipswich was if they were on wages that would help them forget where they were and who they were playing for |

Dont blame they players for doing the only thing they could to stop the move. Blame Jewell for wasting so much time on it and talking about it whenever he could, perhaps he should have listened to the press when the players said they didnt want to leave. They have contracts you know, they dont have to leave their boyhood club jsut because CSI'S administrator says so.
Thank god Jewell is not our manager.

What is clear is that the only way they might have played for you is if you paid them massive salaries, they certainly didnt want to for a normal wage. They woud rather play for their home/career team for free than be forced to play for Ipswich!! |

If our clubs fold and the players are sold off i hope none goto Ipswich due to the amount of carp Jewell has been spouting.
Advice for future player recruitment to save time........leave off after the 3 time a player says he doesnt want to join your team and tyr and prise out other players from other teams, otherwise you come out of it, proving to the fans players dont want to come. In this instant the players had to come out and do it themselves, via social media sites, and that cant be good for the club |

Talk about saving face, how many times does Jewel have to hear they dont want to leave/move to Ipswich, Jewell is trying to paper over the cracks, from the moment it came out they said they didnt want it and Jewell is trying to claim they are greedy. They are ALL likely to be on the lower wages we give out, and they arent getting paid at the moment, if they wanted to join your team (or the other teams who were scavaging around them), do you think they wouldnt or do you think it is loyalty? They all talk about the thrill of playing in front of our fans, and now we also have an inspired manager with a vision of how to play the game. Perhaps they would rather ride the waves with the captain and wait for a new owner than bail out because of a storm. 2 things, the wages these fellas are on is low, they werent the ones draining the clubs resources, and if the worst happens no one will be blaming them, weve had rotten owners/CEO/managers for years, a few good cheap players staying loyal will be revered. It tastes very nice that you lot couldnt force our loyal players out.
PS: Some of us think no one will save us, its nice to know we were all going down together. The HMRC will get their money later......when those players are finally sold, and lucky for them loadsa teams will be after a bargain and they can go where they like. |

All 3 have been very vocal about not leaving Pompey, noe have said anywhere they want to move, whether they can be pushed out?.....that is your only hope. Perhaps they know more about the people interested in buying Pompey than the rest of us. |

I didnt know player values were related to the housing market, i hold my hands up you know more about that than me.
Im pretty sure we were late in with Pearce and i think it was brought to our attention because we had a 50% sell of fee attached to him and he was available and due to that it was a better deal for them to sell for less to us, than anyone else, at the time. I also think after losing out in the playoffs he was eager for a move away and bournemouth knew it.
oh and 'but now you don't like it as a bigger club has come in'.........nice. Childish, but 'clap clap'

Yes, you are just about hanging in there but don't hold it against our club for putting in offers. Don't forget we have been there and we have had to sell our best silver, its the way that the cookie crumbles. You should be blaming your previous owners for over spending, money a small club like Portmouth never had. You were in the third tier of English footbal for many years, then all of a sudden your are in the Premership, paying silly wages. What else can you expect? Footy has gone mad and the game is basically ruined because of player wages and greed. I remember when you won the Championship title and your fans were proper aarogant when they came down here. I have no sympathy whatsoever.

I dont see how your first paragraph is relevant, he wasnt released by the manager who brought him back this summer. Have Ipswich never released anyone they wish they hadnt.
And the second paragraph.....the rant.....its not the fans fault, its embarrasing the fans you met acted like that, tbh tho, i think alot of teams chant when promotion is assured, is that what you mean? Regardless of your opinions of our frail position and the over spending of our previous regimes, and we are not looking for sympathy, we enjoyed the ride, bu ti dont think the fans are guilty of anything other than believing what we were told. I wouldnt want any of them to go to your club but thats only because of the offers your management have alledgedly submitted. They are worth more. Despite us only paying £300000 for Pearce he has proved his worth and will only get better. |
