I spoke to a group of lads who were singing about Justin Fashanu in a pub on Saturday - hard to believe really. If it was you, how about agreeing with your mates that it's the last time you'll do so and move on? |

I like this. There's strong potential for songs that play on our yokel perception, imho. |

Thanks for digging that up (and I stand by it!). I wonder what can be done though to try and generate some fresh, original songs, to give us our own identity. Same applies to the PA at games. Hey Jude is obviously great, but it would be nice to have something unique to us |

Is the list finished at EEJB? One song unique to Ipswich? |
 | Forum Thread | Original songs at 11:32 17 Apr 2024
For starters, can I say that the atmosphere at the ground has been great lately, and I think Blue Action and the North Stand are playing their part in backing the team. But when it comes to songs, how many are unique to Ipswich? They're often the first place I hear them, but then I later find out they're adapted from other clubs. So.. which songs are truly our own? |

Anyone else find it a bit cringe/wasted energy to sing about a single opposition player? |
 | Forum Reply | Beginning of the end for Blue Action? at 14:08 12 Mar 2024
This is a deep comment - can I control where my mind goes? Who knows. The point is, if other people also make the connection between the terms used and hooliganism then there's a chance it will become an issue. |
 | Forum Reply | Beginning of the end for Blue Action? at 08:39 12 Mar 2024
Whatever side of this debate you're on, I think it's healthy to be discussed. Personally, when I see banners saying 'ultras' and 'Suffolk punch' with a fist symbol my mind associates this with violence and hooliganism. The affect Blue Action has had on the atmosphere at Portman Road has been fantastic, but I don't think the move towards this language does them any favours. Their ethos from the start was to create positive support for the team, winning or losing, throughout the match. This seems like an unnecessary deviation imho |

That's a fair point - and I agree, the alternative is worse. I also get that my concern might be a bit premature, but I'd hate to see Blue Action evolve into a comfortable hiding place for hooligans, so it's a good conversation to have. |

Controlled aggression is a bit of a nasty term, imho. And it's a thin line to tread. I remember the original remit of Blue Action being positive support, whatever the scenario or scoreline. The atmosphere is undoubtedly better as a result of their work, but I'd be wary of building on this element of the hardcore fanbase. |

I agree with the OP. Blue Action are making a massive difference to the atmosphere but the North Stand could do with getting involved more. So little noise seems to come from there now. But positivity is key. I hope we’re not becoming complacent with the wins and just turning up to expect a show |

So when is this likely to sell out? How many tickets are available, and will it make it as far as the second stage - members with season tickets? |
