Good idea to take people's minds off things, sadly won't be able to join as I'm on PS4 but I wish you well and hope you get some good matches in!

Interesting to see that the invisible hand of the market only applies when it suits.

Five Point Protest being launched
at 22:31 5 Mar 2020

I don't understand how you can overlook the catastrophe that has been Evan's ownership - it really isn't that complicated.

When he came in, we were an upper-mid table Championship side. When he came in, we were told we would be a Premier League side before long.

He has invested - in the wrong managers, the wrong staff, and the wrong players. Yes, it could be worse. We could be Bury etc. etc.

Ultimately though, the man has failed to achieve anything with us other than stagnation and decline. I get behind the time as best I can but that man is the one responsible for the state we are in, and news flash, he isn't going to get us out of it!

I said at the start of the season that regardless of what I want from this season, I would be surprised to see us finish above 8th. The first part of the season made me think I had been too harsh. Everything since then has shown me we'll be lucky to finish as high as that.

Certainly some blame falls at Lambert's door, we can all think of bemusing decisions he's made throughout the season. But in reality, the lackluster business strategy and ambivalence from Evans over the last 10 years is what has actually sealed our fate.

I'm not sure whether I'll go again this season, I've done a lot of games this season and put a lot of money in his pocket. At this point it just feels like I'm in an abusive relationship to be honest. I really do love my club but Evans is draining that day by day.

Man City banned from European competition for two years
at 07:49 15 Feb 2020

I would imagine it will get overturned, but it took Chelsea about 10 months to get the transfer ban overturned so by the same logic they will at least miss next season's UCL.

Is it wrong to support a second side?
at 09:43 5 Feb 2020

Depends how much you support the second side. I go to Maidstone games when the town aren't playing or I have a free evening midweek, but I can't say I feel any pain if Maidstone lose. It's more of something to do and supporting the local community but I'm not too bothered about Maidstone's success really. Whereas Ipswich give me nightmares which I suppose is testament to how much this shambles of a club does and always will mean to me.

Saint MaxiMax, wow

If that was your first time seeing him then I can't blame you for being taken in by his performance tonight - a very exciting player in a great cup game.

Saint MaxiMax, wow

He was certainly impressive and let down by Almiron, Atsu, and Hayden at times - the two shots he got away were well taken and defenders didn't know what to do with him.

Still think it's a bit of a stretch to say he'd be your first round pick, so to speak. Surely if you have a magic wand you could wish for someone who does what he did so well tonight, only on a more consistent basis.

How many of you on here sat and said we didnt need to strengthen
at 10:41 2 Feb 2020

At the start of the season I said we would be lucky to finish in the top 8 with the squad we have and the level of investment put in. That looks like it's going to be correct as we enter the final furlong.
The players are clearly behind the manager so whether or not you agree with his team selection, you must agree that he has them motivated at the very least. Blaming Lambert is pointless, he has a 5 year contract, he's the best manager we can attract at this level, and the problems and faults of this football club all lie at the door of Evans.
If you defend a man for 'keeping us afloat' whilst presiding over a Titanic-esque descent as an actual football club then all you're really doing is saying it's better to slowly fade away into obscurity rather than dramatically blow up.
I will go to more games this season, I can't stay away from supporting my team. I will continue to cheer on Lambert and the boys we have because I believe that by and large they are doing the best they can. But I will not be buying anything else from the club aside from tickets until the Madness of Marcus is over. He's had enough of my money whilst kicking me in the balls already.

Fleetwood away will be our toughest game of the season to date
at 14:24 1 Oct 2019

I agree, they're an unknown quantity for us, with a dogged attitude and a good run of form. A trip to a small ground like this with a hostile atmosphere is going to be much tougher than a lot of people seem to think. Peterborough was our biggest test so far, frankly we were much the better side against Sunderland and although on paper it was our toughest fixture, it just wasn't in reality.

I do think we've got more than enough to see them off, but it will be a hard-fought win if we get it.

This year's home shirt

In my opinion, it's alright - not that keen on the chevrons and would much prefer us to have gone with a pinstripe pattern. Personally think we've had much better but by the same token, much worse.

Gutted we've sold out already, only live down the road in Maidstone and was gonna be the first game I could go to since Wimbledon. Fair play to the fans though 👏🏻

Good start for the scummers (n/t)
at 13:18 24 Aug 2019

Yeah I've been saying the same thing about them since Boxing Day - any team that ships as many as they did in so many Championship games and doesn't invest doesn't have much of a chance of staying up, regardless of how good they look going forward.

Lets be honest they beat one of the 2 teams they will be lucky to end up finishing above and Chelsea just aren't there yet. Having said that, the sooner the losing streak starts the better because Pukki and Buendia will cause problems.

at 17:22 22 Aug 2019

Would probably have to be Maidstone as its my local team and I do go now when I can. They'd never really be my team though so I spose I'd have to spend more time in the pub.

Hats off to Lambert/Evans and all involved.
at 12:42 22 Aug 2019

Yeah I could see that, I think Georgi and Garbz would be a frightening left wing whichever way you played them - I just get this sinking feeling with Kenlock (although he massively picked up once Georgiou came on) - we shall see, not given up on him but that would be my suggestion.

Yeah they've done good work by the looks of things, very impressive day of announcements yesterday. Not being too greedy as I don't expect it to happen but would love to see a left back and that would be that as far as I'm concerned.
