Been a lot of talk about the quality of the players we have recruited, money spent etc - I actually think our biggest mistake was the amount of players we brought in. The one advantage that we had over everyone else was momentum, team spirit and a team that knew the system like the backs of their hand. I think at times this season we have played 7 or 8 players that weren't here last season - in some areas this was necessary (up front, in goal), in other areas it wasn't (centre backs are if anything worse, across the 3 behind the striker we have massively overbought). I expected it to level itself out in January as the new boys got to know the system but we just seem to have lost a lot in terms of the intangibles I mentioned above. |

Had a bit of joy with Johnson wide right and Wolfie centre back Saturday, looked defensively sure and then we change it for today. Their players are better than ours - surely that means we try to limit the chances they have as opposed to thinking we can score one more than them regardless?

Brilliant laugh, next to nothing about Ipswich but made me think of his game against Rotherham, arguably one of the best centre back performances I've seen for us and completely unexpected - I actually bumped into him at Thetford Go Ape and he finished my sentence when I said how good he was against them, lovely bloke.
Made me wonder what are your favourite Ipswich performances which came out of absolutely nowhere? Thinking Nsiala vs Leeds 18-19 when he could have stopped an 18 wheeler with his bare hands when we were already relegated, Barry Cotter debut (Barnsley maybe? Mick's last game I think) and the like |

No need to reshuffle the 3 behind Delap when Philogene came on, that made us worse

Delap brilliant, great ball through to Broadhead (I think?) in the first half but not enough support

Felt sorry for Ali, worked his nuts off but clearly really low on confidence.
Hopefully McKenna making Wolfie captain can put to bed some of the silly rumours that have been circulating |
