Donacien: My Hardest Ever Goodbye
at 18:25:06

If you remember we signed some “championship” players when we were in league 1 which lifted our team above most of the others. Maybe Janoi will be the “championship “ player to lift Chesterfield.
A solis solid defender.

During the 1960-61 Division Two promotion season, these two strikers combined to score 70 of the 100 goals that the team scored that year. Phillips scored 30 goals with Crawford netting 40.
Phillips netted 28 times and Crawford 33 as Ipswich achieved the amazing feet of winning the English Division One the following year.

Villa Activate Philogene Matching Rights
at 15:46:59

Annie M you said “don’t think I’ve ever witnessed such a bloody circus in trying to sign a player, have you?”
What about Ian Crook?
He famously agreed to leave Norwich to join Ipswich at the end of the 1995–96 season, even posing for photos with his new shirt and buying his children replica kits before changing his mind and re-signing for City days later.
At least Philogene is still wearing his Hull City top in all the pictures

Röhl: Johnson Talks Ongoing

All the top teams in the championship are looking for a striker except the three teams that came down from the premier league. How many of them have actually bought one? The problem is not just ours. We do need a goal scorer but if we get one are we guaranteed PL football next season.
It seems that we can at best recruit a championship striker or a young up and coming one for the future. The problem is and always has been rich PL clubs having a surfeit of strikers who don’t play regularly just so the other teams can’t have them

McKenna: We Need to Find the Right Balance
at 17:13:57

What makes everyone think we should be nailed on for promotion?
There are other clubs in the hunt who have an equal past pedigree- Sheffield W, Derby, Bolton, Portsmouth, Charlton. Only 3 of these can go up so next season will be the same given 3 equally successful teams may well be relegated. I for one am happy that the quality of football is infinitely better than we've endured over the past decade and should we not go up this season then we battle it out again next time. I've watched this club win the old 1st division seen them during the 70s when they were the best bar Liverpool watched the cup final win and UEFA cup win. But I've also seen some rubbish in my time and this season is definitely not rubbish. It is a vast improvement. Sheffield Wednesday fell away last year as did Portsmouth so if that's our lot this year then we tweak a few things and go again. We will get there but have no divine right. Back then - enjoy the entertainment when it happens and back then the best we can. COYB

Ipswich Town 3-0 MK Dons - Match Report
at 19:58:50

Well I get a little annoyed with those who complain about Luke Woolfenden's mistakes. He was placed in that position by another suicidal back pass from Evans who I feel always makes the easy pass rather than using his vision. Luke mad a number of cross field passes accurately to switch play only Morsy equaled his vision. 99% of the time he is calm controlled and has vision which others do not possess so lay off him and get behind the team. All the forwards make more mistakes than him but because it's so far up the pitch it doesn't matter (other than the fact we don't score enough goals)
