50% Off for Rearranged Game
at 18:41:13

Football League Regulations Section 5 Paragraph 27.3 states "Every Club must have a publicly stated policy regarding ticket refunds or other arrangements for abandoned Matches" ( http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/section-5-fixtures_2293633 It's up to the Club - policy should already be written down somewhere but nothing to stop the Club being generous.

Football League Finals only give 50% refund for matches abandoned after kick off - possible cause of confusion.

Just thought I'd clear that one up.

Marketing opportunity - existing tickets valid for rearranged game AND 50% off an extra ticket for each ticket held? Extra revenue + bigger crowd + more concession spending on the day! Everyone's a winner!

Jewell Confirms Portsmouth Deals Broke Down Over Personal Terms
at 23:06:17

So its official - ITFC screwed up the Murray Wallace deal by going back on the deal when there were others already in the frame. Hmmm. Oh, and Danny Higginbotham doesn't want to go out on loan he wants a permanent deal...so he's gone out on loan...to Notts Forest!!! Saw Phil Brown on Sky earlier today saying how much easier transfers are nowadays compared with ten years ago, but still PJ thinks transfers are much more complicated than they used to be! I'm totally bemused. Just glad the squad is capable of thrashing West Ham - hope they keep the faith and play us up the table.

Stevenson Looking Forward to Getting Started
at 11:25:55

singtown

Priskin was never in the right place at the right time and when he was he still didn't score! Thus guy looks more of a Keith Andrews - not afraid to run at the defence and score from midfield and get in the box for the loose ball. If he scores as many as KA then we'll all be happy. An important piece if the jigsaw potentially in place - now for the defence!

Duo's Loans End
at 19:05:03

Did I dream that Priskin went to Derby with a view to a permanent move? If he did, I guess he didn't impress there either. Feels like another Counago to me. Could be good but somehow never is....

For me the mini revival under the captaincy of Andrews and the slump again under the captaincy of Leadbitter tells a tale. The team needs a leader that sets the example on the pitch and motivates his team mates. But what do I know?

(I wonder if anyone at ITFC ever reads these comments?)

Drury Confirms Luton Exit Imminent
at 19:10:10

Seems to me people are missing an important factor in all this transfer argument - Paul Jewell knows the game and the transfer process (undoubtedly better than RK ever did) and has already identified and attracted a better class of target than Mr Clegg has ever had to deal with. I can't imagine for a moment that he will stand by and watch his efforts be undermined, nor that he will attempt to break the wage structure at the club unless he feels it unrealistic (in which case I'm sure he will say so!)

At this stage it would be prudent for us all to stop the negative (and regrettably destructive) approach to which we have become acustomed, and get behind PJ and the team with the same grit and determination that the team showed at the Emirates last night.

Times are changing at ITFC (for the better I believe) so maybe it's time we all changed our tune just a little bit too?

(Apologies - my comment seems to have turned into a book!)

Jewell Pays Tribute to His Players\' Effort, Workrate and Energy
at 09:21:16

PJ was impressed with the squad when he arrived...Wenger believes the squad has the physical strength of a Premiership team...two performances on the pitch against a top three Premiership team has proven the huge potential already in the team.

Think of it this way - had they been league matches it would have been 3 points a piece in the Prem.

Your mission Mr Jewell, should you choose to accept it (and actually you already have) is to take this club to the Promised Land and realise the potential those two games have proven this great club has!

Well done to everyone. You made us all proud on national TV!

Cotterill Expects Further Norris Talks Later This Week
at 10:38:01

Propoganda aimed at unsettling him and putting pressure on Ipswich to come up with a better deal - all driven by his agent not him.

If he didn't want to be here he wouldn't be playing his heart out and scoring goals - there would be no need as he would know he was going anyway. And to be honest - a few weeks ago he probably did want to leave! Who wouldn't have? But things have changed and he knows it.

I suggest we all stay as calm as PJ on this and don't swallow the propoganda.

McParland: The Players Sweated Blood
at 23:39:21

What an advert for the club Live on Sky! Just goes to prove that the players were always capable of a performance - just needed motivating properly. Makes me wonder how many times 'Charlie' was ignored. Great job Mr McParland - thank you.

My main criticism recently has been that they weren't pressing the ball - just backing off, backing off until...the other team scored. But tonight! They pressed and pressed and played for each other - covering each other's backs and playing as a team.

Awesome performance - take that PJ and mould it into a Premiership outfit, please!

Keane Refuses to Blame Bad Luck
at 19:21:01

Love Keane or hate him it's academic at this stage! There comes a time in every club where a change is needed - fresh impetus - new ideas - new training techniques - perhaps just a better way of motivating the players. I believe we're at that stage and it's time for a change - can't see any alternative!

Thanks Roy, but goodbye!

Keane Refuses to Blame Bad Luck
at 11:35:53

OK - I don't comment often and try to take a realistic view of everything. I met Mr Keane at a local youth football club recently and he wasn't at all what I expected. However, there is no question that at times things have to change at a football club to inject new life and new direction.

So, I have mixed feelings about the pros and cons of RK in charge but I am convinced of one thing - I believe it is time for a calculated and considered change.

That leads to the next problem - who replaces him? And i wonder if that is the real cause of the delay in change. There is no point knee jerking and bringing in an equally disappointing replacement. I tend to favour a return for GB - I think he took the blame for a period of general bad management at the club. Unless Mr Evans can convince the likes of Big Sam to lead us to the promised land?

Keane Confirms Stead Out But Scotland On Way Today
at 10:08:01

“He goes with our best wishes because he's done well for us in recent weeks ...we're disappointed to lose him, but that's the situation we face at the moment.”

So if he's done well for us in recent weeks and we're disappointed, why is he going? We don't exactly have a glut of strikers do we? Makes me wonder what 'the situation we face' is!

Wickham Sunderland Link Revived
at 09:52:29

Wickham has to be the best emerging talent in England at the moment and has huge potential. That is recognised by the big clubs - hence the early wash of what will become a tidal wave of bids for the lad. Remember how Everton tried desperately to hang on to Rooney?

Fact is, if he continues to develop at his current pace, he will be worth huge money in a season or two. If Mr Evans has the stomach and wallet to do so, Connor could not only play us into the Premiership but at some future point fund our survival in the top flight.

On the other hand - a bird in the hand is worth a flock in the sky! So, I'm afraid, there will be a price that will see Connor leave. I just hope its high!

Town-Newcastle Game Live Abroad
at 11:17:32

In all the years i've grown up following Town they have always performed when u least expect it and beaten the teams they should lose to and lost to the teams they should beat! On paper the Toon should destroy Town on Saturday but I suspect the old Town spirit may just rise to the occasion and delight us all! I wonder who Sir Bobby would be shouting for? Maybe a draw would be the best result all round considering the occasion? Then again we do need the 3 points more than they do! Lol.
