Home tickets - potentially

This may fall into the 'dumb question' category, but are home tickets really as sold out as they show on the site? Finding a pair for Charlton in my usual area is proving difficult, but in the past I have seen corners of the stadium still empty even when declared 'sold out'.

I guess my question is, do additional tickets open up nearer the time in Upper North/South, or is what I see the only thing I can get and I should settle for my old school Cobbold life.
